Souped Up is a 2" high power rocket that I designed, constructed, and flew to 18,452ft. It weighed in at 6.9lbs fully loaded and was constructed in a "Submin" configuration. This means that the rocket motor itself was a structural component of the rocket's airframe instead of a separate body tube.
It was propelled by an Aerotech K455 rocket motor containing 3.2lbs of propellant to a GPS confirmed altitude of 18,452 feet above the launch site at an estimated max speed of Mach 2.
I want to give special thanks to Thomas Booska, Julian Rice, Walter Lohmuller, Amrit, Adrian, and Alex Patrus for their invaluable assistance during the build process, and Thomas Booska, Julian Rice, and Braden Carlson for all of the launch media including photos and videos.

Awesome flight! Only recently heard of the term sub minimum diameter. Your construction methods on this bird were pretty interesting! Well done!

Nice! How did you retain the fin can to the motor tube? Did you also use any tip to tip fiberglass reinforcements?

@@julianchee2894 Thanks! The fin can was retained on the motor by the 3d printed boat tail/ tail cone. This actually failed, and the fincan slid back during boost, leading to it getting a little cooked. I did not use any tip to tip reinforcements, instead opting to make the core material thicker and do larger fillets.
