Your bread looks amazing, Sonya! I've been making sourdough for about 5 years now. I used to make the fancy round loaves like you do, but I found that feeding a family of six takes a lot of bread and baking just 2 loaves at a time takes too long and is gone so quick. So now I make 12 loaves in regular bread loaf tins, and don't cut a fancy design just a few slanted cuts across the top!

I baked only one loaf, unfortunately, because I didn*t knew, if it would be good, but it was perfekt at the very first time! It will be the favourite bread of my husband... I started making sourdough back in the 90’s from Nancy Silverton’s book “bread from the LaBrea Bakery”. You made the starter from grapes. I love your sourdough. You’re a real artist.

Could you please let me know if you have a video on how to make a sourdough starter? There are a few videos on youtube but like you I inky want to make them once a week and I get thoroughly confused on how to keep a sourdough starter. 😂 We are in our winter months here in Australia and can have quite hit summers, so I would love to know how to keep a starter in the fridge. I left it on the counter for more than 6-8 hours and I found the dough to be very sticky and I feel like not so firm anymore, it rose very nicely… I hope I didn’t mess it up

From what I have learned glass or plastic is best, but not metal. I personally do cover it with a lid.

I love sourdough bread and it’s your fault lol. I tried many times to make starter and my starter failed and always smelled foul. I tried your technique and boom I have sourdough starter. I’m a sourdough maniac. I haven’t had my starter for long and it’s definitely a learning curve but it’s so exciting to make the bread after all the work. It’s hard to share it because you know how much time and effort you’ve put into it. I thank you so much for all your help.

I've been making bread every week now - my family loves it. I also make a very simple bread recipe which is awesome - almost like the Italian bread I used to make when my husband was still alive - he wouldn't eat store-bought bread! Your Bread looks amazing! Exactly what my goal is...however Im a new sourdough baker. I tried making it using your recipe twice and it was not good. im not sure if its too much water (high hydration is tricky for a new baker) or it was overproofed. It was a sloppy mess when left overnight. I followed your recipe to the dot and it looked amazing until I wanted to shape it. Ill keep trying!
