6:59 To be fair, the conditions for drawing the sword was not “only a true hero can pull out this sword to defeat the Demon King,” it was “to avert a world calamity.” Perhaps there is a threat even greater than the Demon King, and a qualified hero will then be able to pull out the sword.

Ahh this makes sense! Thanks for that insight! Maybe! I wonder who will be the one!

i really hope not. because then the whole point of himmel being an ordinary human who succeeded to save the world without any "great sword" or any other hackneyed tropes would be for naught. :/

I genuinely hope that the "Hero Sword" stands to represent cycles of heroes. Kraft in the Long forgotten past, Himmel only 100 years ago, and this as a reminder it will still be necessary. The world is forever in need of a savior and someone needs to step up is a much more interesting theme than a magical level-up to combat the big bad, imo.

The point of him not pulling the sword is to show that he wasnt born special with some destiny. He was just a guy who was determined

Oh that interesting! I typically enjoy the common man theme, it can get a bit repetitive with the whole great destiny prophecy. I think goku is a great example of a common man(common foot soldier ) who was just determined also saitama. Some on the other end being Naruto and Rey(Star Wars). I’m also curious about what someone else mentioned. The sword was supposed to be pulled from someone who is to prevent a great calamity. They mentioned that it’s possible that the demon king wasn’t the true calamity but someone/sometthing that has yet to happen.

Man I want Stark to get the sword SOO bad. I want him to get courageous and be a hero! Not a perfect hero without fear, but just way better than he has been and with some confidence!

himmel (and his party) actually defeated the demon king. there is a hero (he's mentioned once in episode 6) who is considered the strongest of their time called "hero of the south," who couldn't pull the sword either, and actually died to the sages of corruption. it's just a legend that the sword has to be pulled, again, to romanticize himmel.

Hmm 🤔 interesting! This hero of the south sounds epic

2:59 “Lord of the Mountain.” That’s Inosuke, right? ^_^

I forget if I mentioned Mononoke but that title reminded me of that film. Is there a connection there? They are both boar like creatures

@@AnimeAestheticYT Oh… the boar god in Mononoke Hime… I forgot what they called him… you may be on to something… let me see if I can find out from the Net real quick… Hmm… from what I could see, he’s called the Boar God (猪神 - Inoshishi-kami/gami) and maybe Okkoto-nushi 乙事主 … the “nushi” part means “lord,” which is what they use in Frieren (yama no nushi = lord of the mountain). I don’t know what the “okkoto” part is.

Yoooo this the information and research I needed in my life thank for clearing this up! I could have sworn he was called the lord of the mountain in that film but I guess I was mistaken! Good stuff as always! Also sorry for the late reply but it’s definitely appreciated by us!

Stoltz isn't like Itachi; Itachi was the Demon who killed his family.

Itachi was manipulated by Danzo really and he believed if killed his clan he could stop a war which would have killed many more. It was also an insane choice to make for someone that was only 13 years old. I dont think of him as a demon but as a teenager who thought he was doing something for the greater good but ultimately was being used by Danzo.
