$100 000 estate houses are limited. You probably would get very nice 3 bed apartment section tittle houses. R1.5 m .. decent luxury apartments.

Honestly the first few minutes turned me off to the property before I even saw it. All that security is a red flag for me. I would rather live in an Estate like the Blatans do, rather than have a standalone home with the security depending on me alone. I would have much more peace of mind being in the middle of an Estate and able to walk around more freely knowing that access to the Estate is regulated(and yes, I know even an Estate has its risk and security issues)

It was built in 2000 . Soo it makes sense. I think one might make some renovations. Especially if you are earning in dollars.

It’s a very beautiful home and for the price it is still outstanding because in the states that would be 15 million rand(million usd) or more. My next question is the burglar bars, when I first seen them I was thinking that the location was not a secure location and it brought on thoughts of being a prisoner in your own home. I would like to find a home for 2,250,000rand - 1,300,000 (150k-89k US) is that still possible in South Africa and still be in a secure area.

No, in a golf estate your definitely going to get a much smaller house for 1,2 mil and maybe no swimming pool but the security is there which is why people move to these estates. In my opinion you could get a much better prices house which is 2 to 3 bedrooms in a gated complex which is still secure, but not in a suburb that caters mostly to rich people. I’ve lived in SA my whole life and never been robbed or burgled and I don’t live in a gated community. You just need to know which areas are safer to live jn

Human beings are funny creatures... we see several post that are on some: "the house finishes are rather dated for my liking"... that time the contributor is staying in flat/townhouse that was built in the late 80's or 90's 😂
