also 23, LOOOVE History and currently doing my honours in History....as a History teacher, I agree with you and its such a shame that I only stumbled across this video now.
@@BeenGucciMaximus 😂 it didn't land did it? It's funny how YOU WERE ALWAYS in the library when most of us went clubbing, but you still can't read and understand a simple comment. It's even bold of you to assume that I didn't use my time wisely; perhaps if I showed you my academic achievements and told you that I've never tasted alcohol in my life you'd change your tune. Look, we'd have a conversation about the message I was trying to relay, but your approach was shitty. I guess they were right to say being woke has some level of mental illness in it.
I thought I was just going to watch it for ten minutes, but ended up watching the whole conversation fascinated by this wise man and a true leader who put his life in line for the sake of justice and freedom. long live the spirit of Tambo long live!
We fought the Apartheid oppression but now it has come to a situation where we are having to fight the present BLACK ON BLACK OPPRESSION. This is exactly what the late Nelson Mandela advised us to do and I can't help but think that the late Nelson Mandela knew what was.happening within the ANC at that time and thought in his wisdom, that he had to warn us of the coming OPPRESSION BY THE LIKES OF THE RET FORCES WITHIN THE ANC. MBEKI THOUGHT IT WISE TO NOW WRITE A LETTER TO THE ANC IN ORDER TO BRING THEM BACK ON TO THE PATH OF THE VISION AND PRINCIPLES OF THE ANC'S FOREFATHERS. BUT ARE THEY GOING TO HEED THIS WARNING OR NOT. THE HOVERNMENT HAS ALOT OF LAND LAYING NOT BEING FARMED BUT THEY DO NOT SEEM TO WANT TO SHARE IT WITH THE BLACK INHABITANTS. THEY RATHER CONCENTRATE ON WANTING TO TAKE FROM WHITES WHO ARE TAKING CARE OF THE COUNTRY'S FOOD SECURITY.I DO NOT THINK THAT THE EFF AND ANC ARE KNOWLEDGABLE OF WHAT THEY ARE OR WANT TO DO. WE SHOULD DEFINITELY STEER AWAY FROM POLARIZING PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY AND.ONLY THEN SHALL WE GET ONTO THE RIGHT PATH AND PROSPER THIS COUNTRY.
I am not South African, but what is happening in South Africa now is a direct causal consequence of Apartheid (a form of White Supremacy domination). Also, South Africa has spent more time under Apartheid in living memory than without Apartheid, and people who are dealing with the effects of the problem of Apartheid now, did not create it. This means there is a learning curve involved and this means that mistakes are going to be made. So if people are going to criticize people who are dealing with the problem of having lived under Apartheid - a problem that they did not actually create - then this criticism should automatically be reality checked. Think if there never was Apartheid (White Supremacy) in South Africa. South Africa is where it is now because of Apartheid.
Lelie tussen die dorings - Causality is a fundamental law of The Universe, so the ORIGINAL cause of this problem is Apartheid (White Supremacy). Your point about communists, was very very interesting. It can be concluded that ideologies originated, developed, propagated by Whites for Whites are not universal and do not serve Blacks; and such ideologies will be used by Whites for collective and global domination over non-Whites, whilst the various White groups fight for supremacy amongst themselves. The above paragraph effectively describes the dynamic of what is happening geopolitically with regards to Blacks and what is described in the following video regarding Blacks following communist ideology:- Yuri Bezmenov: Psychological Warfare and Subversion (1hr) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5gnpCqsXE8g.html
morton christie - Marxist? Did you even READ my other comments that are part of this comment thread? In one comment I stated the following:- "It can be concluded that ideologies originated, developed, propagated by Whites for Whites are not universal and do not serve Blacks; and such ideologies will be used by Whites for collective and global domination over non-Whites, whilst the various White groups fight for supremacy amongst themselves." The above applies also to Marxism, and since I wrote it, I have obviously NOT been subjected to Marxist propaganda, BUT see it for what it really is because this is how it actually functions.
Well said,o.t I am white Muslim, and I share as a south African Muslim, deeply with you, having walked with stalwarts same as you, from actonville days..Highly spoken of back then too..and yet, still so many in exile. May your soul rest in Peace old friend.
It must be said that these leaders of the ANC set the bar very high in such way that the current leaders have given up to reach it and resorted to remain mediocre just for survival....
I always knew Tambo was the brains behind the ANC... he was very careful with his words and a smart man. Love how he explained why MK was formed. Most whites love to criticise... i would really like if they printed the R100 note with his face... Mandela wasn't alone!!
Fair comment but please be aware that "whites" is a MUCH bigger group than whatever you have experienced of "whites" in your own personal life. There are "whites" in the world, particularly in Russia and Eastern Europe and Asia - who have no idea that other whites live in Africa. They will live their whole life not knowing this. Just as you will live your whole life knowing nothing about local Korean or Lithuianian politics for example.
@@leratodyani1586 wise people don't work alone even if they are the brains behind. Brains need other brains to make it work and others to move locomotive. Those too are very important speeding up.
Oh please people, tomorrow there'll an interview with another great individual, will you say " oh it's a mistake to put Oliver Tambo on money, let's remove him because he's no good let's put another individual? Tambo was ANC activist and a president but was in exile in Britain at the time. Mandela was fighting in SA and living place to place and was the founder and president of umkhonto wesizwe until he was found and arrested as you know about the for 27 years in prison. Moving forward as a ANC president in waiting, he came out take his place and work towards taking the power from previous government and bringing democracy in the country in the process. That's the history you should know. Both these men and other great leaders that are gone now, they passed the baton and couldn't live to watch and babysit the rest of other leaders that followed them, to work processing the rest of freedom to all and all that comes with it. O Tambo came back to SA after Mandela was released and didn't live to see Mandela leading the country. If you think that Tambo, Mandela and Sisulu were working against each other, then you are wrong. They were one and have ONE thing in common, and Mandela's print on money was perfect as he was a first black president of SA and as president of SA they print him only on money as long as the country is under black power and the country is SA, Mzantsi. My dear friend you'll have to put your hatred against our Tata Rholihlahla Madiba Nelson Mandela aside, and wait for for the remaining years to come so that his face be removed by another wise president of the far away future that you won't live to see. Cheer up now and stop comparing our great leaders. Try prayer and think when will God bless you with real wise leaders again, if there will ever be. DUBE, ENOCH SONTONGA, CHIEF LUTHULI, MAKANA, HINTSA, S BAARTMAN Long-lived SPIRIT > of O TAMBO, N MANDELA, W SISULU, ROBERT SOBUKHWE, STEVE BIKO, CHRIS HANI, CATHRADA, WINNIE MADIKIZELA MANDELA, MAXEKE, ALBERTINA Sisulu, LILLIAN NGOYI and all other heroes and sheroes (heroines) like my father whom I won't reveal his name. 🙏May all the men /women, brothers and sisters, uncle and aunts of the struggle enjoy their peaceful, restful genuine life in the most glorious place they humbly work for close to their😇 MAKER AND ALMIGHTY in heaven. RIP SOLDIERS. We love and appreciate you ❤️❤️❤️🇿🇦
What an inspirational leader thank you Tata for everything we are who we are because of your struggle and the rest of the anc organization 🙏💜 may your soul rest in perfect peace ✌
OR Tambo remains one remarkable leader. One thing we can always associate him with is the Revolution and Revolutionary leader. His resilience, relentlessness , dedication and high level commitment and visionary leadership sustained the South African revolution in a way that few other leaders in his position and situation did. It is certainly the measure of the man, deeply religious, deep sense of love for his people and their freedom, resolute, unassuming and with remarkable humility yet drive and firmness and principled! He was certainly a special leader, a nation builder and the builder of the foundation for a free and democratic South Africa. Clive Mtshisa
A man with brains, cool, calm and collected, a real leader. He lived on through Thabo Mbeki and his spirit lives on. It is a wish that today's students and intellectuals tap from this man's unparalleled wisdom. A real Moses of his time.
@@KingOfAfrica90 The new leadership has more in common with the Apartheid regime than our founding fathers. They have created an oligarchy with white corporate South Africa. It's really sad, what's even worse is that we are a one party state.
Thank You for the sacrifice you made for your own people.I see tearful eyes. You fought a good fight. You fought for freedom and for peace for all S ,Ans."What an Icon".....may his soul rest in peace,in paradise.
I like this interview bcs to us u will always be a hero my President,u never been afraid of apartheid regime.Salute and (R. I. P) I which all 90 and 2000 lessing to this interview than complaining everytime done coming with solutions, people like to be hero from nothing down with people imposing themselves in a wrong doing things by banning schools and damaging Universities
I am not from Sourh Africa but I have read and heard a lot about mr OR and others from the ANC & PAC in those days and they were so inspirational! I must admit it is my first time ever to have head his voice! He had a great composure when answering the questions asked intelligently! The current African leaders should learn about true leadership from giants like Oliver Tambo! At least there is an International airport in South Africa named after him although , I don't remember whether this was done in his lifetime or posthumously!
Thank You Tata Oliver Tambo as you and I met at a USA University College Campus when you came to rause finds with Dr Alois Moloi a pioneer of Azania the real name to be changed fir South Africa as Dr Mploi told us you taught us and them that SouthAfrika will become The United Republic of Azania not South Africa That remains to be changed to day. When we met you stared at me since my face resembled Madiba Mandela your comrade who at that time was in prison in Roben Island..ay God rest your soul.in paradise peace.
Tambo is not celebrated enough. Our history must be told so that we don't forget. So that we appreciate this democracy as we continue the fight for total emancipation
From the Conversation I am listening, this was a great Man for the Country.Should Apartheid be scrapped in time, this Country should have been developed much better than now.
He was an intellectual and he, also, was pragmatic. Don't forget he passed his BSc degree with first class to become a teacher. He left teaching after Bantu Education was introduced, to study Law, and the rest became history. Nelson Mandela took him in high regard both as a friend and a leader. And an intelligent leader in that.
Really great interview. The lady has quite good questions. If one would carefully observe whats happening in our country currently, you will definitely see that what Oliver Tambo said, has and is coming to pass (the outbreak of violence). The last question relating to his Christian walk is one that has continued to be difficult to address even in our times. There has been a growing assumption that one cannot commit to politics when they are christians or religious. I believe that to be deception. I think this discussion is one that should further be addressed with a thorough study on the christian Scriptures on the dilemma.
The journalist is British, a Christian country that went to war with Hitler. Does she ask those questions of her countrymen? Such pacifiers expecting the downtrodden to turn the other cheek while they practice the opposite themselves. Yuk
Wow our ancestors were more than brilliant.plz south africa let us find a place in our hearts to love our african brothers.atleast they play a big role during those bad times.
He was very different from Mandela..You don't realise it here, but he was different from Mandela. Had he lived, and become President, he would not have been as lenient as Mandela.. He wouldn't have tolerated the rubbish that Mandela allowed.. He would have been much harder..
A really great leader he was! Thank you OR for being prepared to give your life for us to get our freedom. For giving up everything for us to be. It’s a debt we can never repay.
well he did give his life. His immense workload took a toll on his health, two strokes and ultimately a heart attack which took him away just a year before he could realise his vision.
What i knew about u my President u have been great leader that was transparent and understanding.U have showing u leadership in difficult times and not fairing anything.U never fear death u were in front and ready to die for u country salute and R.I.P President OR TAMBO
morton christie Maybe your purpose is to offend or insult others instead of civil dialogue. Please read the Freedom Charter of the ANC and reflect on the passion to unite our nation but not to be selective of the shortcomings of a democracy, but the economic progress, even though at times it seems limited.
morton christie The Freedom Charter stipulates that democracy is for ALL in South Africa. It is amalgamated with the universal human rights charter. Affirmative Action is an opportunity to give those who were less fortunate in the past, a chance to succeed across all economic spectrums. Picture a school in the township and a school in the suburbs in the 1980’s. That is vivid as it gets on just one level. You know in heart that Apartheid was wrong and we need to have corrective justice to change that mindset in order to move forward. Judge our young democracy in 20 years and you will see the purpose of AA.
morton christie In 1994 we all achieved political freedom but economic freedom will take another generation to achieve. During Apartheid the father had to only take care of 1 of his 4 children. Then Democracy prevailed and that same father was required by the constitution to provide equally for all of his 4 children with that same R1000. I know you are intelligent enough to process the analogy.
I imagine how this Leaders(Tambo, Mandela& Hani) were continually training each other on how to behave... they sailed a ship in the most difficult times.
Powerful leader indeed no wonder our former President Thabo Mbeki is such an intellectual he was groomed by this giant full of brains so briiiant ndiyakuhlala ndilihlonipha elimpondo....Wow inene if it was Zuma lo ukule interview ngekuthethwa ukuba sise kwingcinezelo nakulonyaka zEnkosi Thixo ngokusidalela inkokheli efana no Moses eyadikhululayo noxa izwe elibaleka amasi nobusi yena khange alixhamle inkululeko, he fought for our liberation but he never enjoyed its fruits..... May his dear soul rest in Peace
OR Tambo is seriously engaging the myopic interviewer on what needed to be done to get the apartheid regime to back down and be crippled. She takes him to where he was born...like really!
