South Africa plans to introduce racial quotas in sports 

Imagine if England decided to have racial quotas in the English leagues, there would be uproar.

Why not invest in sport development in deprived communities? At the end of the day, you only "win" if you're the best, not because you're a certain color.

Until proven that a player was rejected based on race, introducing such quotas is MAD. Today if you are good, teams will pick you if they want to win, no matter what your color.

Watch them plummet down the rankings.

In soccer, in the previous world cup; France, Germany, England, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Dutch, etc have nearly the whole team made up by black people. Back in a few years ago, the France team wanted to have racial quota, the whole world cry out "racism". However it is okay if black people want to have the racial quota. The South Africa government also want to take the land from the White minority farmers and distribute the land to the Black people. We're looking to see Zimbabwe 2.0 in the making.

If France had created a racial quota for their football team, they would not have won the 2018 World Cup. If you want to win a game, you must choose a great player to play, regardless of your color.

How about we stop seeing colour? Just start seeing human beings good at sports? Give everyone an equal opportunity to prove their worth?

Great idea! Ditch the idea of having people who are actually better at the sports so that your teams can seem multiracial! I agree fully with that coach!

I think that this is a very good and right decision to allocate more places for indigenous people. This is their country and they have the same right to play in the national team. We just need to create more sections and opportunities for black people and believe there will be a lot of talent among these children.

Very smart decision. Sports teams should be chosen based on quotas instead of player skill. Diversity has been the driving force behind all the most successful sports teams in history.

During the Apartheid past brilliant rugby and cricket players of color were denied the opportunity to represent their country because only whites were by law allowed to play for SA. Unfortunately this discriminatory legacy has continued to this day, that's why transformation has been so slow on national and provincial level. Quotas in my opinion won't help because this problem can't be addressed on the player level. The racist power structure still controls rugby on all levels.
