I’m so sorry for your loss. In the spirit of the song, may The Lord comfort you and lead you through life’s journey and it’s tragedies. I lost my husband some years ago so I know what you’re going through. It gets better with time, trust me.
@@sonyathompson424it’s great that they teach the boys to sing bass and tenors with their new deep voices so beautifully in harmony. If that happened here in Europe we’d probably have more bondship and knowledge of place in this crazy world!
Goosebumps is the perfect word to describes what I felt the first time I heard her voice. And I think this the only time in my life I felt that. It's so rare to feel that. Above all, in today soulless music era
As a young child I remember watching the film about rourkes drift a British film about a battle the British won against the Zulu but at the end of the film the Zulu start to sing i never heard something like it before and it’s all I took away from that film was my love of South African singing iv loved it ever since , the lead singer is more of a conductor the boss , it’s just fantastic.
The lead singer’s name is Phila Mpofu and she has her own RU-vid channel with this song titled “Bawo.” She is a young Christian girl who wants to sing. Please help support her channel 🙏🏾
Very moving interpretation. It is a song performed by the students of Soqhayisa Secondary School. They sing a song called “Ndiphe Olothando” which means “Grant unto Me Divine Love”.
I’m a Maori woman from New Zealand and I absolutely love seeing these videos where you can see as well as feel the love of music and the rhythm in their bones. It’s just like home. Absolutely beautiful….. and that lady singing lead..Tumeke 🥰😇🥰
@shelleymiddlebrook1265 This really was beautiful. I’m not a religious man but this was definitely special. I kind of feel the same way, though not as intense, as when I watched a video some years back of a NZ couple at their wedding and the groomsmen all started a Haka to honour them. I don’t think I have ever been so moved by something as I was by that moment. I’m not ashamed to say that it moved me to tears. I didn’t understand the language and I’ve sadly never been to NZ (yet!) but it was so pure and so powerful that I completely felt the incredibly strong energy and understood the message. It was just amazing to me that something that upon first glance and being a total outsider can look so intimidating and threatening but yet convey such love and support and emotion. (I’ve watched many more Haka videos since then and know that Haka is many more things then just a challenge) As you can tell, it really struck something in me. I hope to one day visit NZ and perhaps witness it in person. Much love and respect to you, the Maori and all First Nations and Indigenous peoples around the world from 🇨🇦
I am not from a tribe of any kind I was raised in a cult, our music was very dull more of a dirge than anything else. I managed to get away from that and did some travelling. I happened to help a neighbour out at Waitangi Day celebrations. (She made huge batches of curried chicken and mussels with rice &would need help on the day). At one point in the afternoon they did musical and dance performances. I had seen a Haka so thought I knew what to expect, how naive I was. As soon as they started to sing I had this visceral reaction, I don't even know where it came from but, I sobbed big, ugly, tears for the whole performance. It was so very beautiful to me. My neighbour thought I was nuts. I'm sure you won't care, but I just wanted to say I had this similar experience with Music from your home. ❤️🖖🏼
I have no words. The lead vocalist is TRULY gifted. It has to literally be a part of your soul in order to sound like that. You can see she inspires the same in the others. All of them come together .... and what we hear is pure magic. Breathtaking.
Because it is part of the culture over there. Black culture, that is. Music was a very important protest tool during Apartheid, and its now ingrained in the society, post-Apartheid. These angels grew up with song around them, which is why they are such wonderful singers, even with little direction or supervision.
@mulondokalemera7531 In all of Africa music and dance has always been an In tegral part of society and culture, South Africa is not unique in that. My amazement is that they seem to have this natural , unrehearsed gift of harmonising which I don't see anywhere else. In terms of dance....Well Africans all over the continent have that natural gift .
@@kehindeemiabata4032 I am African, so I know. I was lucky enough to grow up in East Africa and then live and work in South Africa for a good amount of time - so I can compare the two different societies. Music and song is a bigger part of South African society than any East African society; their protests, for example, are 90% song (and toyi-toying - look it up). The harmonisation you see, the singing in sync; it is much more part of a typical South African upbringing than any other African community elsewhere.
Black people mostly sing at home without instruments and develop their voices as instruments. On the other hand, white people tend to buy all kinds of instruments and music players so they don't develop their voices as instruments nearly as much.
Respect, I have always loved South African music , black lady mambazoo. I’m sure I’m misspelling their name . I can’t wait to visit SA and see it for myself.
Truly beautiful! As an African American whose never been to Africa, I feel this is what the songs sound and felt like from our ancestors! And although we are thousands of miles apart, these powerful young people show their spirit is still alive! I said a prayer over all of their lives that God would Bless And Keep them All the days of their lives. Keep singing young people and keep leading them young lady! Powerful voice!! 👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
As a Liberian, I’ve admire South Africans unique voice. From Sarafina to Mariam Makebah, their natural voice leaves you with goose bumps. A normal school devotion looking like a mass choir performing at a grand event.
I'm from west Africa and i don't undertand nothing in this song. But i've watched this video for many times. They sing is like something coming from deep of they heart. I'm crying with tears right kown when lesting the song. God bless you young south Africa teens. God bless all african around the World. One love and big up.
I am German permanently living in West Africa, my tears are running so great is the power, the joy and faith echoing in those singing and us hearing this Love Song to the Creator, such incredible unity and harmony which if ever Europeans could feel also and live and share. Thank you South Africa, thank you Africa, this.....the soul echoing from what is alive here ..is thecreason why I live on this continent..'.The same powerful energy comes back re-echoing from all over Africa, it is so Magic...

My family came to South Africa in July 2023 and we stayed at the Nkambeni safari camp in Mpumulanga for several days. On our last night which happened to be my Son's 24th birthday, the staff came out and sang this song to him. First off I must say that I was so moved in my spirit and blessed by the song, I KNEW THEY WERE PRAISING YAH and ALSO SPEAKING A BLESSING UPON OUR SON'S LIFE. WHAT A BLESSING TO HAVE BEEN MINISTERED TO BY OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO SHOWED US SUCH UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. I MISS SA VERY DEARLY, BUT NOW I KNOW,..WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF YAH AND HE HAS A PLAN TO REDEEM HIS CHILDREN. SOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL...SUCH BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE and THAT"S BECAUSE THE SPIRIT OF YAH IS UPON THEM. ALL PRAISES...PEACE AND BLESSING TO OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS ON THE CONTINENT OF AFRICA - FROM AMERICA...WE HOPE TO BE HOME WITH YOU ALL SOMEDAY SOON 💞❤💞
I'm a Maori woman from Aotearoa, New Zealand and I get so moved by African music. The harmonies are so powerful they bring such emotion to the foreign ear. I hope you understand how absolutely beautiful this is ❤
I have watched this about 20 times and I may not know the language, but I feel the power of God in it. The prayer is powerful in song. Just awesome. Praise God!
We Mississippians know what it is to call on The Most High with a large group of family and cousins in harmony!!! We hear u. Our cuzzins across the water!!❤❤❤❤
I don’t believe in god . But I wish I did listening to this , it’s my third view and I haven’t stopped crying. These children truly are amazing and beautiful
Music Is Life, It Grows, It is Emotive....I am by GOD'S amazing Grace, just turned 90. I am still in unbelief, but continuing to worship GOD and praising Him with Songs of Praise for the residue of my days. I am from. West Africa... Thanks This mass choir of South African School Children singing Bawo, has elevated me.
When I went to South Africa I saw a group of students singing like this by the waterfront and it gave me chills and made me tear up. The harmony is beautiful. I didn’t even know what they were singing but I could feel it was divine. You can FEEL the divine
@@quickstep2408 I mention it because I wanted them to know their singing transcends race, age, and colour. That’s an important point. I’m sorry if it offended or triggered you for some reason. You are certainly the one to make an issue of it and lower the tone. Do better please.
I close my eyes and feel the spirits of my ancestors from Africa listening to this....and l live and was born in London. No one can break the spiritual connection we have. Awesome ❤
I don't speak the language however they are definitely anointed. I feel it in my spirit and something in me calls me to this song. Beautiful! I get chills whenever I hear it
I look at them, we are a part of them and they are a part of us (African Americans). So much love in their hearts just the way we use to know love among our friends and family here in USA. I get a message from this song. As they plead with the Father for protection and thank Him for protection, we need to do the same 100% here in America. Same blood line, same power all we have to do is raise our voices in the same child like faith and things will be better for us here in America. I am so inspired by that great union and fellowship that is with them. Love you South Africa. Love you Motherland❤❤❤.
Watching from Maryland in the US and I've always admired African culture so much. The patterns are colorful and bright and gorgeous, the songs and dances are all so full of life and bring such joy. Nothing makes me feel so much joy down to the core of my being as hearing Africans sing their songs. I so long for culture like this in my life. We are so disconnected from everything over here.
You are very welcome. We receive scores of tourists and visitors daily. It’s a beautiful country. Check out videos of some African Americans and Africans who visited and decided to move to SA for good. One love ❤
Africans sing in all situations. When we are happy, sad, worried, depressed etc, in every situation we find ourselves and thats what helped our Ancestors to survive during the slavery period and kept them going. But for South Africa and Eswatini , its an everyday thing and the harmony is heavenly ❤❤❤❤❤️
So beautiful. I love how she pointed at Him up above in the end and they all followed suit. I imagine God turned around from whatever he was doing that morning just to hear them sing.
The passion of these children lifting their voices - how beautiful! Look how much fun they’re having. Wish I could be part of something like that. God bless you children of South Africa.
In America our queen of soul is Aretha Franklin. I truly think this young girl sings with more soul than she did. Sorry Mom. And these kids are so much happier than the kids here. They are obviously loved and cared for by their community. You all deserve all the credit in the world. So beautiful. Keep singing young lady- protect your voice though- you go really hard. Thank you all- cheers me up every time
Brother when I tell you may YAHUAH bless you! I was just listening to hillsong- oceans (where feet may fail) and thought about this song. I couldn't find it in the text it was sent to me, but when I Google "African high school choir singing" this was the first one to pop up! When I tell you they give me chills, man. Smh. They sound so blessed! And the lead makes it just that much better! You can't tell me Africans don't sound like life itself when they sing. I legit would not be surprised if this is how YAHUAH'S actual choir sounds. Thank you for posting this, family.
Can't stop listening to this song! My algorithm showed me this video and I hadnt known anything about south african music before. Greetings from Germany.
Wow. Such gorgeous music Africa has given the world. You hear the same musical roots through gospel, spirituals, and military cadences and working songs.
Am I the only one who got goose bumps from watching this? If only my girls school assemblies had been this uplifting. The harmony and rhythm is so beautiful and soothing and so precious. This definitely bought a tea tree to my eyes. (In a good way). ❤❤❤❤
Je suis si fier d'être africain, si fier de ce peuple auquel j'appartiens, je ressens cette bénédiction et cette force qui demeure en nous quand je vois la résilience de notre jeunesse. Merci pour les larmes de joie que vous m'avez communiqué. 🙏🏽
I've been to South Africa and saw a show of young kid's street performers sing and dance, boy can these kids sing, they have a fantastic voice. Love there singing great word kids.
This song always puts me up when ever am down, reminds me of how good and loving God has been to me all the days of my life and hearing this rendition I can’t help it but to have goose bumps. Blessed to the kinds
My one wish is to set foot on the continent of Africa so that my spirits can connect with my people before I leave this earthly world. This voice pierced my soul
Listening to this & makes me sad we African Americans don't know our native tongue & we got separated from our history.I did an Ancestry Test & I'm mostly south African.I hope I get to go back & meet family I don't know. This is so beautiful 😢❤
I just needed to hear this beautiful young lady and these kids sing this wonderful song today. On repeat...I can't even understand what they're saying, they just sound amazing
When something like this touches your soul, and it leaves you speechless, which I am right now. There are no words accept beautiful. Sending love and peace from the United States. SC. ❤❤❤

These kids sound a thousand times better than adults in America. They are really are feeling the song with their souls. They genuinely seem full of joy when they sing! Beautiful!
All the way from Zambia with love❤️ south african spiritual songs really pierce the soul 🥲🥺 so much unity in this piece and the lead is literally floating on it all with a strong presence 🔥
I don't understand what they saying, but just listening to them, you get want they are saying . You can feel what they are saying. It is so spiritual. I love their singing, can listen to it all day.
My father grew up in south africa. He purchased grapes to bring to wine makers before south african wine became famous... what he remembers fondly is that, after purchasing the grapes, when leaving with his loaded vehicle, the people of the town would gather and sing as a thank you and farewell with these wonderful choral voices.
Beautiful!! Beautiful!! What a way to begin the morning with God before attending lessons. The voices are so beautiful the lead singer’s vocals are on point and very infectious.👍👏👏👏
I thought the lead singer was an adult until we saw her come into view. God bless that amazing child. One who can lead a large assembly in song in such a powerful way is a gift from God to all humanity.
