@15:00 Those bombs they dropped on the bunkers were made out of Howitzer barrels due to the rigidity of the metal barrels. The Fat Electrician does a cool video on it.
The 2 hours on Medina Ridge seemed like 30 min... I was there and in one of the M1A1's that was hit by friendly fire.. B-23 Bravo Co 1/37 Armor 1st Armored Div..
Fun fact: General Franks, who's helo got lost and flew over the enemy formations during this battle. Will later be the general who is in overall leadership of both the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq in the early 2000's.
I served in this war I was in the 18th airborne core core aviation. We lost a couple of birds, but all in all I don’t think the US has been in them involved in a war That went so well I knew we were gonna win, but I anticipated much tougher fight
Holy shit I couldn’t even recognize you in the thumbnail without the beard, was like ok I’m getting recommended a new South African reacts channel until I read the channel name
They basically could not ever perceive the rate and speed we were capable of pressing our attack. Plus, they totally underestimated the quality, proficiency and training of our military.
Cant really blame the Iraqis for that mistake. They have no aircraft or satellites to be their eyes in the sky. This war was like modern day Cowboys and Indians where the Indians are far out classed as far as tech goes.
I think you look gr8 and you shouldn't hide behind that beard i just for the first time in life let my hair grow long like past shoulder length i had been military short for over 40 years ! Its weird warm and strange.
1 million Iraqis died as a result of Desert Storm and the sanctions that followed. This includes 500,000 children. Why didn't the video mention this? Are 1 million dead people irrelevant?
No, they died as a result of the actions of their dictator. This was a video about the battle, not about the tragic fates of those who live under middle-eastern tyrants. Your numbers are also being grossly exaggerated. 120,000 to 235,000 total deaths is the most accurate estimate, this includes both military and civilian.
@@Anubis78250 From Newsweek (March 23, 2022) Albright, the first female secretary of state in United States history, made the remarks during a 60 Minutes interview. Correspondent Lesley Stahl discussed with the then-United Nations ambassador how Iraq had been suffering from the sanctions placed on the country following 1991's Gulf War. "We have heard that *half a million [Iraqi] children have died. I mean, that is more children than died in Hiroshima," Stahl said. "And, you know, is the price worth it?"* *"I think that is a very hard choice," Albright answered, "but the price, we think, the price is worth it."* Clips of the segment were shared around on social media following the news of Albright's passing. END Most estimates have 1.2 to 1.4 million Iraqis dead including sanctions which starved and deprived Iraqis of food and medicines for years after the war ended. This is *collective punishment* on a civilian population, a war crime.
Saddam borrowed Billions from the Kuwaiti' s during the Iran\Iraq war and instead of paying them back he thought he would just invade them, and steal all of their gold and oil. OR another is that Kuwait was tired of waiting to get paid and started horizontally drilling into Iraqi oil fields with help from Haliburton and got caught..
