The South Carolina Breakfast Club was in action at Triple Tree Aerodrome on August 18, 2024.
We were up at 4:30am anticipating getting into Triple Tree a little early and saw Laurens was reporting 300' overcast and 10 miles.
But - we agreed that the ceiling would burn off after sunup - so off we go - into a 22kt head wind. Our ground speed was 56kts at one point and I waved at the traffic on I-20 as they passed us!
Nevertheless - we made it in under the still lowish ceiling - as did what we think were close to 100 other airplanes.
After looking thru over 600 pictures and video, the documented count is 86 aircraft captured between Scott Crosby, Stoney Truett, and myself.
Assuming we missed photographing around 10% of the entire fleet, I am guess-timating that we came close to 100 airplanes for the 2024 SCBC at Triple Tree.
Everyone at Triple Tree deserves a round of "atta boys" for a job exceptionally well done.
