Im in my mid 50s. When we were teenagers, we were listening to the original songs to all these hip hop beats. Its amazing how some of the guys took those original songs and rebirthed them into some of the most iconic and memorable beats to ever grace the vinyl and our ears. They didn't really play this stuff on mainstream radio unless it was a pirate channel. It was all on mixtapes and stayed underground up until the late 90s when the radio stations decided to actually play hip hop music, but by then, it had become raunchy and a whole lot less about black consciousness and all about money, hoes, and clothes. Now, this modern sh!t is just disgraceful and weak. So weak. So lamevand predictable. You already know what they are going to rhyme about and already know what theyre gonna say because the rest are rapping the same rhymes over and over again. No creativity. No power. No longevity. No future. No heart. Those days gone are well missed and won't be seen again. Truly sad how today's youth take our creativeness for granted. They can only mumble.😢
