I would like to point out that while the fishing that he does is pretty bad ass, the title of he's video is allusive. Slow pitch vertical jigging is a completely different than what he shows in this video. The rod, reel, line and motion of TRUE Slow Pitch Vertical Jigging is way more advanced than what's presented. Now, yeah I can be chewed in the ass for my comment, but hey, ain't google your best friend?
BoghyFL thanks for the complement! The reason I title it that is because I was using slow pitch jigging rod. It may not be the kind of action you expect to see on the other side of the world. There are many ways to jig. Short, long, slow, fast, jerk, etc... Theres really no true right way.. At the end of day it's what ever catches the fish. What I have is heavy action $450 slow pitch rod that I got for $150. It's was my first time trying it out. I'll change the title. I'm not happy about my slow pitch action. It is lame.
No need to spend that kind of money. Look for TSSPJC- serries from Tsunami for around $120. I'm not affiliate with that company, i build my own fishing rods for the most part, but since the cheapest blank for slow pitch vertical jigging is about $150 retail, minus get the entire rod for less than that and eventually modify it - if preferred. At the end of the day, i do agree with you, jigging is all about what catches the fish. I ended on your page doing intensive research all over the internet for this new technology of slow pitch vertical jigging and that's how i ended with a comment. Tight lines!
Most of us have fish finders. Ive seen guys have better luck blind jigging lol. We troll a live bait peddling out then we drift jigging. Normally over ledges, wrecks, reefs. Someone just caught a hoo in boynton beach.
