Wow, that was amazing, thank you. My Sister got married in Akaroa a few years back during a Akaroa French festival (not intentional but very cool). This was a very nice reminder.

Much fun was had watching and agree with gasdive :) I reckon just fly the drone and ask for forgiveness instead of permission. It's not like you're going to be up long anyway! The summit road is also amazing at Akaroa, and of course you can already tell that the series 'NewZeroland: An Unexpected Journey' is going to feature the dramatic white Trump more than it should! It's been said before but...Awesome video, team! I just bought a poor man's Zero (electric scooter) for my town commuting etc. and I'm having a ball zipping around with no fuel charges (thanks to solar panels). Looking forward to the rest of the trip, with some trepidation re the Triumph.

I live in Pegasus not far from Amberley and have ridden those roads many times on firstly on a Vstrom 650 then a Tiger 1050 both awesome bikes. I just feel so lucky to have such awesome riding out my front door. The rest of the South Island will blow you away.

Went to the Aviation Museum on our visit to NZ, a fabulous place and recommended to everyone.

Absolutely loved the video and scenery Sam. I've never done that trip by car or bike. I've done Southland years ago but the scenery was amazing. Make me miss NZ even more. Thanks for all the effort you put in. Really appreciate it. Infections here in London are horrendous along 3 and 4 degree days. Nice watching this on my TV in my snug lounge. I hope u visit the 'Britten Stable', the place where Motor cycle legend the 'Mighty Britten' was crafted. I felt and still feel blest having the opportunity to meet with the man and its incredible Machin

Watching this reminds me that surely need to go a big road trip on my bike at some point, been riding for almost 3 years now and still havent! NZ has so really nice places as well.

Epic road trip! I've been looking forward to vicariously enjoying this road trip since you announced it. Man, those earthquakes certainly cause some grief, but that coast road looks absolutely worth it. Love the consideration Jen showed the guests at the accommodation by pushing the bike out. "Quiet pipes save dreams" 😂 And that final stop on this section… Just wow! You're a lucky couple to be able to enjoy your biking together, even if it sounds like the Triumph is causing grief. Triumph HQ is only 10 minutes' ride from my home, if you want me to head over there and give them some grief! 😁 Looking forward to part 2!

It suddenly ended and I thought I was only 5mins in. Can't wait for Part 2! Can't wait for spring so I can go touring... and also.. end of corona times.

I used to work as an engineer on the "Stinky Ferry ", part of highway 1, I lived in Christchurch a fantastic town. I say town as that's how it felt when I lived there. Wish I was back there, 👍🏻

One thing to do the trip on a petrol bike, but awesome job on a electric bike and knowing where to charge up. yeah west coast would be pushing for charging of the bike,. You would notice an earth quake on a motor bike.... you would think your steering head nut had come loose... Was in Christchurch for the big after shocks driving a car thought there was a steering problem or two flat tyres slowed up and was looking at a road light pole which was whipping about... penny fell then.

Makes me wish I lived there, its so beautiful. My 2017 energica ego finally arrived at my house, sadly I live in Chicago and it's way too dang cold to ride. I've just been enjoying sitting on it in my garage and making engine sounds.

Oh also, for next time, when you get to the end of that road in Kaikoura, where there's not much to see; if you walk just around the beach there you can normally spot seals hanging around. Also I looked on your Merch site but couldn't find the NZL wizard hats?!

Jealous. Miss riding way up nort' here in northern Indiana in January. Overcast and 20s (F). You don't realize how cloudy it can be until you install solar. Ha!

My folks used to own the Bach across the road from the French farm winery....there used to be a couple of other baches where it now stands......spent a lot of my holidays as a kid there .can you give me the info on where you stayed at french farm......it looks like you were up behind where our Bach was somewhere below the pulpit as it was known back then....cheers

Looks like you guys had a blast. I'm surprised with as many fast chargers as you have out there, that there seemed to be a hole in the network. I wonder if there wasnt something out there that got decommissioned or was there but just wasnt on the plug share map. I'm also kinda surprised seeing a tiny little Grom in a road trip with bigger bikes

If your Triumph had not died the road from Queenstown to Glenorchy is worth doing too. I watched a video by international sports car test driver SHMEE 150 who labeled the Crown Range Road one of the finest driving roads in the world.

Very nice countryside. And the weather! We have got -4C and -9C tomorrow. No riding unless you live south if the Alps. But let me make a request: For your non native English speakers you sometimes ( often) speak too fast and with accent that makes you very difficult to understand. It would be great if you could slow down your speaking speech and pronounce a little clearer. And Happy New Year!!

Solution = tunnels 12:15 Maybe a small petrol generator for emergency charging? 14:44 Bag End-ish "no drones" Maybe it's a good idea to read drone policies *after* flying ....especially in rural areas.... Some people make up unnecessary rules as job justification. 😀

My observation as an ex motorcylist, modern riders assumne drivers will see them and give way, NO going to happen, also, road awareness, they don't look for potential trouble such as driveways, sideroads, sudden turning vehicles, on coming overtaking vehicles, there seems to be a total lack of road awareness, just open the throttle.
