It’s definitely a hit or miss with hagwon housing, I lucked out because the pictures that they sent me were not great and I was actually going to find my own place.
I know that their are gay friendly areas such as Hongdae and Itaewon but I have yet to visit so I cant tell you first hand. Overall, there seems to be an increasing acceptance but I think things are still pretty covert.
