They came up with the fish sticks joke while on a writer’s retreat. They we’re watching salmon jump upstream and someone said something like “Wouldn’t it be funny if one had a big fish dick flopping in the air?” And Trey was like “Wait did you say fish stick or fish dick?” And then it hit everyone immediately what a great joke that could be lol!

This episode perfectly shows the actual difference between Family Guy and South Park, I love both shows but the difference is that something that would've been a cutaway gag in Family Guy get's turned into an entire Episode or even Season in South Park. The writing process behind this was also interesting by the way. They had the Fish Sticks joke first and knew they wanted to turn that into an Episode where some Celebrity doesn't get the Joke and gets all offended by it. So they tried to think of a Celebrity who takes himself to seriously and wouldn't admit not getting the joke and decided that's Kanye

Technically Cartman is correct in claiming at least partial responsibility for the Joke. While he did not come up with the joke itself Jimmy only thought of it by asking Cartman if he liked fishsticks which only happened as a consequence of Cartman hanging around after jimmy agreed to try to come up with something together. Could Jimmy have come up with it another way? Sure, but he didn't. Soooo ... at the very least Cartman was the catalyst for the joke. While of course everything spiraled out of control in South Park fashion he was not the guilty party at the beginning. A rare occasion why it should be mentioned :)

I do think Kanye is a genius. One of the best rappers ever. I think that, like many geniuses, he struggles with his mental health. Freddie was bisexual though, so gay isn't the right word. I really don't like it when people lump bi people in with gay, as if they're the same thing when they're not. Straight/Heterosexual = only having sex or being attracted to members of the opposite sex. Gay/Homosexual = only having sex or being attracted to members of the same sex. If someone engages in sexual activity and is attracted, at least on some level, to members of both sexes, then he or she is not gay or straight. They're bisexual. There's a huge difference. Many bisexual people tend to lean toward one sex or the other, as there exists only a very small number that find both sexes equally attractive (I'm one of those rare few). However, even if someone is 70% attracted to one sex and 30% attracted to the other sex, that still makes them bisexual.

@@BX-advocate That you don't care if he's gay or bisexual is precisely why I commented. How would you feel if someone labeled you a different sexual orientation than what you are? Like, say you're straight, and someone started saying you were gay or bi. You'd be pissed, right? And not because you hate gays or bis, but because that's not what you are. Well, it's the same for us. That said, Freddie was married to a woman (Mary Austin) for many years before he got with his final partner (Jim Hutton). This wasn't a cover, like many gay people have done in the past (marry a woman because they're in the closet and don't want people to know they're gay). He actually loved her, had sex with her many times, and even called her the love of his life AFTER he was already broken up with her. So, the point here is that he liked both sexes. Whether he leaned more toward men or women is unclear, but what is clear is he definitely liked both. So, the point here is that many people act like bisexuals don't exist, as if we're a myth, and say hurtful things like, "If you suck dick, you're gay," completely disregarding the other half of our sexuality as if it doesn't exist. Again, I don't think there's anything wrong with being gay, or any other sexuality for that matter. I have a laissez-faire approach when it comes to that stuff. If I were gay, and didn't like women at all, I'd have no problem with someone saying I'm gay. But I'm not, so I do have a problem with it. Now, again, I don't think you meant anything by your comment and I'm not mad at you or anything. I was just educating you on an issue many bi people, and probably Freddie too, face every day. Freddie isn't here to speak for himself, RIP, so I thought I'd speak on his behalf in an effort to clarify, that's all. One thing you and I can both agree on though: Freddie Mercury was an AMAZING singer. The only singer from that time era who could match him in vocal talent is Frankie Valli from the Four Seasons.

This episode is hilarious. I recommend season 12 episode 9 "breast cancer show ever" it has arguably the best moment in all of south park, karma finally catches up with cartman in this episode

The best part of this episode is when Principal Victoria convinces Wendy to fight. That's much more powerful than the actual fight itself. But it seems everyone has its own priorities.
