There is actually nothing stupid about it, they’re making fun of Juliane Assange the creator of Wikileaks and using lemiwinks which was created much earlier in the series to be the brother of the “rat” Assange. Wikileaks which sounds a lot like lemmiwinks. A rat which is someone who rats on people and the hamster lemmiwinks which is actually a good hamster not a rat. Wikileaks/lemmiwinks good and bad. It’s actually pretty brilliant and halarious lol.

If you didn't know, it's actually a parody of Down Down to Goblin Town from the old animated Hobbit film, same with most of Lemmiwinks' music that I've heard thus far.
What is it with songs from South Park and getting stuck in my head forever?? First the Hukilau song from ‘do the handicapped go to hell?’ Then the Danish song from ‘a douche and a danish’ Then let’s fighting love from ‘good times with weapons’ And for a small amount of time, mecha Streisand from ‘mecha Streisand’ And now this???
Trey and matt both enjoy and took classes on writing and playing music, they always had a thing for making parody songs and they wanted to incorporate that into south park which they have done successfully and even won awards for it and have also wrote an award winning broadway musical which was a dream of theirs for a very long time,
This is why South Park is king. Not only does it have the humor on the surface that everyone gets, but instances like this is where it truly shines. I thought I remember hearing this song a long time ago, and lo and behold it was based on "Down, Down to Goblin Town" off the 1977 animated hobbit movie....
And I recall hearing another Weakileaks song that sounds like it was based off "Frodo Of the Nine Fingers" from the Rankin Bass animated Lord Of the Rings movie.
Oh and in addition to South Park, I also enjoy American Dad, Drawn Together, Duckman (Private Dick / Family Man) and Futurama. This was an epic SP episode, Bass To Mouth. I loved this song, it just cracks me up.
Go Lemmiwinks! Stop Wikileaks! Run, run, the battle's on! Wikileaks and Lemmiwinks. Run, run, the battle's on! Go Lemmiwinks! Stop Wikileaks! Run,run, the battle's on! Wikileaks and Lemmiwinks. Go Lemmiwinks! Stop Wikileaks! Run, run, the battle's on! Wikileaks and Lemmiwinks. Run, run, the battle's on! Go Lemmiwinks! Stop Wikileaks! Run, run, the battle's on! Wikileaks and Lemmiwinks. Go Lemmiwinks! Stop Wikileaks!
The best part of this is how you can connect Wikileaks with the song from the old Hobbit movie this parodies. In the 2013 movie the Fifth Estate, Benedict Cumberbatch played Julian Assange, the man behind Wikileaks. Cumberbatch also played Smaug the dragon in the big screen adaptation of the Hobbit. The tune of this song is taken directly from the 1977 version of the Hobbit, the song being Down, Down to Goblin Town. The best part? Neither the Fifth Estate, nor the live-action adaptation of the Hobbit had even been released when this episode premiered.
I am 22 and I grew up watching the Hobbit on VHS and immediately got the joke, even during the first Lemmiwinks episode many years ago. I hope they keep at least some of the song in the new hobbit movie
As some people have pointed out, they're heavily based on the 1977 Hobbit movie's soundtrack, which is pretty good. If you want to sound classy, just say you liked that, instead of the song about an anus gerbil.
