We want to celebrate all that Southampton has to offer, and use the UK City of Culture 2025 bid journey to achieve even greater ambitions. Find out more and follow our socials via linktr.ee/Southampton2025
It would've been nice if this video had been produced by local talent and not an agency flown in from Sheffield. If you really want to celebrate the culture of Southampton, I can point you in the direction of plenty of talented marketing, branding, video and other creative agencies based in this city (not including my own). You can find most of them with a quick Google search. But otherwise, good video. Good luck with the bid.
@@AL-jo2vp The credits are at 2:16. No disrespect intended towards anyone involved with this production. They've made a good video. It's a failure of consideration on the part of whoever commissioned this work.
1 - Superb film, 2 - but agree with production resource comment. On point 1 - First of all I love it, really contemporary, "with it", reverence conveyed by the beat and spoken narrative. Aerial screenshots a la Apprentice - frames that civic pride. Fast moving shots. Authentic, organic. On point 2: Good for Rowan to have the courage to note on how the film was produced, it's a fair point. Peter and Paul did do a fab job here. Agree it would have been additional icing on the cake to source film production locally: We have local companies like Neck of the Woods (formerly Broken Physics) and Robin Creative Media who I think are both as capable as the producers of this film. But do note that some of those other companies have been directly involved in other Southampton 2025 videos. Production appointment might have some basis in terms of resourcing and scheduling. Well that's my empathic take on it. But if it gets us to where we need to be then that's the most important thing. Pragmatism I would think. There's some also great output from other bidding cities here on RU-vid so our effort here puts us up there as a contender for sure. Overall I'd hope the 2025 project is a true levelling up exercise to show that greatness comes from everywhere in the UK. No affiliation, incentive or benefit to any organisations, for me by my comments, except for championing Southampton.
@@therobyouknowtv + @Rowan Johnson Hi! A huge range of people worked on the film! Not only did multiple Southampton filmmakers, photographers, creatives and businesses contribute to the creation of the film; we also had a fresh eye on Southampton too, which offered a reflective and refreshed look of the city we all know. The UK City of Culture bid process isn’t only inwards, it is also about putting the city on the national and international maps, bringing people from all over the UK and the world in for the first time! We also regularly work with Robin Creative Media, particularly with our Ambassador videos and our most recent recipe video with our Chair Shelina Permalloo!
