I am considering getting into pipefitting or the operators does anybody have any device on which one would be more suitable for a single parent and less traveling
Sergio Lopez you may have already taken the test but for anyone else’s that comes across this the local 230 test is mainly math. Multiple digit multiplication and division. Adding and subtracting large numbers thens there’s multiplying dividing adding and subtracting fractions. Then there is a small portion on tool knowledge and reading a measuring tape. There was only one reading apprehension question and it was confusing for me. I’m more of a math person than reading so I felt the test was easy since it was mainly math. I passed the test taken in October and have my interview tomorrow
I signed up to join local 342 in 71,got in in 74...5 years apprenticeship...Turned out as a WELDER. In 21 years I never had to travel .I had to retire on Disability but get in the trade was the best thing I ever did.Started at $ 6,46 a hour in 95 when I Retired I was making $34 +-.
I got my Journeymans in Oklahoma. Im 33, been doing new construction for 7 and I've been thinking about going union. If so, what's the criteria I gotta go through? I'm also in my junior year in college for a business management degree.

NFAC thanks! I'm in Rancho Cucamonga so I'm close to Pomona. I just finished truck driving school so hopefully after getting a year on the job training I'll get to move to Seattle where I want to live. I'm honestly looking at myself and came to the conclusion that I don't think I'm a good fit for the minds that can wrap around what you guys do on a daily basis. When I was younger that would be hard for me to admit but even though being old sucks it does come with some benefits lol. Your a good man to spend a few moments to give me a response. Take care.
NFAC by the way I was a legend on bf3. I once put c4 on my jeep on operation fire storm from the base closest to C. I drove to the right side of C through the open hill mounds. The helicopter was getting scores like 130 kills and zero death's the past two games. So I'm driving along and here they come skimming along the dirt and I'm actually lining up to meet them.i couldn't believe that I might have a chance to do this. So they can't even fathom that a jeep is coming up on them and that also I have the capability to blow them up and it happened, I launch off a hill jump out and perfect just perfect I press down and kaboom they die and those wusses left the game lol. Good times.
@@Whocares69123 I've been told that you can make up to 100k in 6 months, non union as a pipe welder. Is that true???? Also, do some unions pay more than others?
I spent 11yrs non-union and joined the union at 29yrs old in 1999....have worked steady up til now and have 19 pension credits and joining was the best thing I could do....GL
