Pathaan,Gadar 2, Rocky Rani ,sam bahadur, Om2, Dunki. These were all non south directors hit. Meanwhile, south biggest film salaar last year did avg business. You don't speak about that. 2023 was hindi dominated just accept. This year obvio the khans are not coming, neither ranbir and all big south stars are releasing. So, don't do bring half narrative.

Your first words shows the mentality of bollywood. You guys always looking for the money collected. In that sense only you are deciding the hit and flop of the movie. Stop doing that first. realistic film which does not engage u is a shit film. The reason Malayalam film industry is at the top is because they use realism to engage the audience. That is one way to make movies. A song and dance just for the sake of it rarely entertains you , it's only when it fits into the narrative that u enjoy it. Entertainment is(and should) be the fundamental goal of any film.

You need to upskill your research my friend. South movies are not the massy ones you spoke about. Go back to Malayalam movies and check their ROI. Talk in terms of ROI and not in terms of the budget and scale of the movie. These high budget movies tend to surge the ticket prices to earn the profit. Such a poor reporting.
