peter ashworth yes she did. He was trying to start a fight with her brother on a minibus so she smacked him one. He went flying through the emergency window escape thing and got his nose broken for his trouble. If you don’t believe it then that’s fine, I’m not exactly invested in your opinion.
The north south divide is actually largely defined culturally by the point to which scandinavian conquerors successfully took control, aka the Dane line.
Plus most of the mines were in the North and Wales, so that's where the tough stereotype comes from. Northerners down a mine, Southerners in an office.
Actually the North South divide goes a lot further down than that, Wales is part of the North to some. And even if we went for half of Wales non of that was scandinavian, half of the North of England was not under Danish rule, some bits of Danish rule are in the south of England as well.
Chill guys Manchester is the north so is Newcastle it’s north west for Manchester north east for Newcastle Scotland has its own south west north thing Birmingham is the middle
If you look back into English history, The Roman invasion got progressively less successful with Northern tribes as they had very nationalistic, insular tendencies. This translates into today's situation very well and being part English further North, I feel great pride in that.
Idk if it’s so much trouble waiting till a reasonable hour to talk about love, I think that’s them problem not a “girls dont know what they want” problem
All I’m gonna say is the Nurse from Manchester who works with us Londoners is a fucking beast!!!!! Even patients who are physically or verbally abusive are scared of her and take their medications with no issues lol. Big up ya self Lisa!!!!!!!!!!! Xxx
I'm a Northerner in exile in the South and the only people who chat to me at any length are other disenfranchised Northerners who have that twinkle in the eyes and a wicked sense of humour! I miss it. I'm not hard or tough in a physical sense but I've got a mental strength and resilience that I've never come across in a Southerner, and I've yet to make a friend here in 12 years of existing here. They all seem impatient and the way they race for the tube when another is due in 2 mins risking a broken leg is baffling, that and the Northern line not actually having anything Northern about it lol. Some cool bands from Manchester though like Magazine, Gang of Four and Joy Division/New Order and the Smiths. Yep they all are fed guitars from kids lol.
Not to be rude but we southerners have just as much Mental strength and Resilience as you northerners do maybe not in your area but down here in salisbury we do.
To all those arguing about Manchester/northern issue: Northern doesn’t just mean geographical it has also become an adjective to describe a certain personality. Mancunians tend to have a certain personality - a northern one. You say “he’s a very northern” meaning he has qualities such as bluntness, dourness, bit common etc
It's sad that I'm a Northerner but most of my family is from the South. And they're so posh so they make fun of my Yorkshire accent so I have to change it all the time. Unless it's my family from Kent that's completely different
Its not sad at all you're a northener. It's a fact. If your family are going to make fun of your accent , they are rude and ignorant. Having a southern accent only means you come from there. Not you are smarter or better mannered (clearly not) Do people still peddle these stereotypes? I once had something delivered from a driver who had come from Coventry. He said he couldn't believe how pretty it is . 'Like Devon' he said. I live 10 miles outside Middlesbrough. Sheer prejudice on the part of journalists who love to push the idea it's awful up here. Once had a national story going on in a Middlesbrough court and ALL the journalists travelled to the other end of Middlesbrough to stand in front of a gas tank to be filmed!
Blanche Kuznetsov Im sorry to hear that :( I’m from the south-West and believe me most of us arnt posh at all 😂 If they make you embarrassed to be yourself and live in Yorkshire then that’s stupid! I’ll admit here in the south you do here some stereotypes of the Northerners but then again I’m sure in the north there are stereotypes or Southerners just don’t be ashamed of your accent cause it’s probably rlly cool.
Newcastle is north. Manchester is south to us up here. To cockneys Manchester is north. I count Manchester as north midlands and north ends just south of Leeds.
Yeah, if you're Cumbrian it just seems weird hearing people say that Manchester or Leeds are in the North. Carlisle and Newcastle, yeah. Anything south of Lancaster doesn't count.
People saying Manchester is not North, when it literally is in the North West of England. That's not an opinion lol, it's geographical fact. Everyone's saying it's in the middle because they include Scotland, which is separate from England.
So it's like the United States but reverse? The more North you go the more Savage they get? Where as the more south you go for the states the more Savage they get.
He missed out how us northern girls appreciate other women. My man said he’s never heard any of his partners say “hey babe, look at her figure/ass/beauty” 😂 I’ll have to show this to my man… he always said us “northern lasses” are a different breed.
@@esayers it doesn't matter where THEY specifically are from as much as there are dozens of countries where you can be✨stoned to death✨for being gay so you kinda missed the point
I think the north has that reputation cause way back we had to fight vikings and dragons and ice zombie you know and after that the north was a lot poor so people had to be more tough
Also in the year 1069, Northerners were genocided/killed in mass by William The Conqueror (better known as the Butcher of the North) and his army. And afterwards they were banned from holding high positions in society. Sadly Northerners have been discriminated against to a certain degree for 1,000 years off and on.
Ethan Quirk Ask anyone from Plymouth and the rest of the South West. The rest of the UK is up North by their standards. I learnt this when I moved there from the middle of the south coast and was told that that was North 😂
Im from Devon, so anywhere beyond Bristol has a strange dialect to mr and different personalities. It's not just north and south, it's the West Country, too!
"So drink your cider down, and pass the jug around, and listen to The Wurzels when you can; live loud and free and sure enough you'll be a real West Country man!"
😂😂 Linsey/Linsay... Well done you for grabbing a hold of this utter genius, now, kick him in the van! 😂 🤣 he's such a piss taking arse!! 😂 🤣 But I bet it's hilarious in your household!!! And they do say laughter is the key 😂😂💕😂😂 So happy you found each other and can tolerate the Oasis gut punches! Now, where's that van?!? 😂 🤣 😂
I'm a Canadian who caught a Yorkshire man. The cultures are very different. When we go back, watching my hubby get beers in pubs in the south is a treat, Southern men wilt southern women swoon
I grew up in Liverpool but I live in Cornwall now and I think they get the same impression that we’re pretty up front and aren’t afraid of confrontation like southern girls haha
Northern UK or Northern England?? Y’all need to understand that when you say ‘Northern’ it’s actually South for the other half of the UK I’m from the very top of Scotland so when I see ‘Northern’ I’m like “oh lol that’s me” Then I realise he is referring to people from 400 miles away :)))
hahah so fucking true. I'm from Birmingham and now live in Bristol and my partner is from Salisbury and he is soooo more gentle than anyone I've ever dated in the West Midlands.
Honestly when compared to a lot of other cultures around the world we aren't that that bad temper wise. It's just when we lose it we turn into terriers . Scousers seem pretty chilled out when compared other cultures despite the angry stereotype in the UK . I think we are blunt to a point that catches people of guard though
How is Manchester northern? I’m from Oz, I don’t understand this “northern” thing. To me, Cumbria, Northumberland and Durham are Northern. The Midlands are central🤷🏼♀️
@@dcmastermindfirst9418 Americans can't understand Americans from different regions of their own country. I had a conversation with a musician friend who went over to Boston with her family from California. They needed directions and couldn’t get decent network connection. They couldn't understand one word, they finally gave up and just kept on driving until GPS connected 🤣
