Southern Milky Way and Earth's motion from NAMIBIA 

As Orion rises above the horizon, so does Eta Carinae. Between them, a path of several HII rich star forming regions of the Milky Way. As southern guardians, Sirius and Canopus, the two brightest stars as seen from Earth (after the Sun).
