We're all volunteers, including the train crew. Its a bit of a lengthy process. First you gotta go through docent training that all new volunteers have to go through. Once that's done, you sign up for car attendant training on the Sac Southern, since all new railroad volunteers have to start out as one, even if they have previous experience as an engineer. From there, you just slowly progress up the latter of other positions, spending at least an operating season in each one before being able to sign up for the training for the next one. I myself just started as a car attendant, so they're saying earliest I could become an engineer is 5-7 years. I have been told they're working on a way to streamline the process.

We really only bring them out for special occasions, such as our annual "Farm-to-Fork" dinner train and Polar Express.

Its A Leslie A200 horn, A200 horns are pretty Common back in the steam and Pre desiel era

Early Leslie horns required more maintenance than later horns. This particular one needs the diaphragms retensioned or “voiced as we call it.

It's an A-200 that likely needs revoicing

​@@AirchimeLTDproductions174 needed a new diaphragm. Had about a quarter sized hole in it. Just got fixed a month or so ago
