Nice interview, and it would be great to have a sheller like that. Lots of folks in NC grew up eating Crowder peas. They were hard to find in my area this year, and I ended up ordering from Willhite Seed. We have Mississippi Purple Hull and Brown Crowder growing now with a late season planting. Harvest should be in October.

I grew the purple hull peas last year. I planted 5 peas with a newly planted fig tree. I also had another fig tree, same size and planted at the same time. The tree planted with the purple hull peas has triple the growth. Nitagen fixing is what I credit the groth of this tree

Cow Peas are awesome! Zipper Cream tastes the most like english peas so far, but PEPH are the easiest to grow. I love how they mentioned growing dent corn as well. Oaxacan has been very productive for us, almost as productive as Blue Clarage.

I tried to grow some pink eye purple hulls in michigan this summer and they didn't do well. I know they are traditionally a southern crop and our weather is way different. I just accepted a transfer to n.c. so maybe next year will be better if we get a house in time.
