Southern Pecan Praline Sheet Cake 

I made this cake yesterday. It is not hard to make. The icing does thicken up when it cools. And it is scrumptious!!! I mean decadent and delicious!!! Thank you for this recipe.

Growing up, when everyone else was buying mint choc chip ice cream, i always chose butter pecan. I know this will be my new favorite. This Looks so good, thanks for sharing.

This reminds me of my mother's prune cake recipe with buttermilk frosting. She poked holes in the top with a toothpick and then poured the syrupy "frosting" on the top which would soak in. It was so good I asked her to make it for my birthday many times!

Only mix the cake mix until it is combined. DO NOT OVER MIX or it will be tough and not light. Learned this years ago and has proven true.

When I was little my grandma always made something like this cake for my birthday. She passed away in 2018, she had dementia and stopped making the recipe around 2010. I never got the recipe from her tho because it was something she had off memory. Now I have a chance to make it again thanks to you. Its basically just like how she would make it and tastes fantastic

I made this cake today with my 6 yo granddaughter. She said GiGi , I’ve never made a cake before! I think she was so into it because it was a “you tube” recipe. I think she would’ve been too bored otherwise. She paused the video for me at certain points and so that was interactive as well. She enjoyed learning how to crack open eggs. That’s just a little behind the scenes info I thought I’d share. Now I’d like to share with you what my husband just said after eating a piece while I was gone. “That cake was A M A Z I N G!” He said it was better than German chocolate, his favorite. He loved how moist it was and wanted another piece.... thanks for the great day ! If I had your email, I’d send you a picture of my little one helping make her first cake.

Yumm I love that cake mix,one time a lady at Church made that Butter Pecan cake,with that cake mix and she used instant chocolate pudding as the frosting and it was refrigerated omgoodness it was awsome.,she also made a tube pan of banana nut bread cake mix and used chocolate pudding for the frosting also talk about delicious omgoodness

That looks wonderful, but you shouldn’t fib to Sam. That is LOADED with sugar. The flour in the cake mix is full of carbs (i.e., sugar), there is sugar in the mix too, and sweetened condensed milk is full of sugar. The whole thing is a diabetic’s nightmare. My husband is diabetic and I can see his blood sugar going through the roof if he ate that. A bite now and then probably wouldn’t kill him, but it is full of carbohydrates. That said, at some point I plan to make this for some event, just won’t let the hubby eat more than a tiny piece.
