that would ruin the sport. there's no way to accurately quantify creativity. Plus the competition aspect would kill the spirit . Its perfect just the way it is .let everyone be the judge in their own way of whos really getting it done.

I would love to see this happen in the uk , there isn't anything I'm aware of that comes close . I love how the many shoots and branches that is black culture in America look so different from the cultural touchstones and cross pollination here in the UK ..many common themes, many different ...but so often expressed exuberantly and with life affirming joy

Memphis got them Vibes!! Im from Cookeville Tennessee got back into skating in my mid 20s with my daughter. Ended up getting a job being the floor guard, and that’s when the passion came back. So I started researching skating, and I found that there was a whole underground scene with adult skaters. I was fortune enough to cross paths with the Legend #TStacks . Didn’t know it at the time but I had one of the best mentors to ever lace up a set of 8s. So I want to say thank you to the skate Fam and big thanks to Stacks for helping me out!

Memphis born and raised. I've heard of the southern roll but this is my first time seeing one. It looks so much fun! Memphis is portrayed as just crime but we have a rich culture here as well. I wish I could skate.

Born and raised in Memphis. I remember going to Crystal Palace as a kid and watching in amazement all of the great skaters, especially the floor refs. Couldn’t skate a lick but had so much fun. Glad to see skating making a comeback.

I’m 19 in the navy, also I am white. I have had the opportunity to skate at different rinks near bass I am currently in va beach. I can skate as well been skating since I was 3 but I’m a bounce skater. I competed in South Carolina for a little as well. Anyways, it’s so interesting to see all the different styles because I find myself being repetitive sometimes. Love this inspiration!

I miss skating here in Memphis at Crystal Palace!! That was the spot every Saturday for R&B and Church Night on Tuesday night. My cousin was the manager Mrs. C .Burnett. Skating releases a lot of tension. Maybe, I need to dust off my skates and hit the floor! You guys look awesome.

Hi Tomeka, don't forget Dave's Skating that was on Third Street before you get I think its Western Park after the shopping center. They later made it a flee market. But it there for a long time. We still have several other places to roll. Skate Odyssey in Southaven and Oliver Branch, MS. East Skating off Mt. Mariah and a few others in Raleigh/Bartlett. Didn't we have some great memories at the Crystal Palace!!! I can hear Prince "When Doves Cry" and "Two Occasions" just thinking about it!!! Wherever you are in life, Tomeka be blessed and be a blessing!!!

This video may seem like a cool video to watch people skate. But it’s so much deeper than that. Skating is like music it brings everyone together. I love seeing people especially blacks get together and have a good time. It’s a vibe. No cussing, no fighting and peaceful. Memphis used to have a lot of Skating rinks around. There was even a full Olympic size Ice Skating rink in the Mall of Memphis back in the day. I went to one in Raleigh I think a long time ago when I was in my teens--20 years ago. I was a bafoon. I had never been on skates. There were so many people who could just do amazing things. I bet a lot of the folks in this video started skating when they were children. And now they're grown, it's like they're professional skaters who got that way just by hobby. We look at them with awe, and they're just cool breeze. It's normal for them. I wish Memphis had a better reputation for stuff like this instead of crime.

My dear Black talented creative people, please don't allow outsiders to do what you innovate. Formalize, take control, even make your own skates, skatewear, etc. If you see how breakdance became an olympic competition with *si*ns only dominating as though it had not a thing to do with us then you get what's comimg.
