I posted a initial impression video as well as a first shots video and it didn’t go as well as I would have liked. Southern Tactical reached out to me and offered to pay to have the rifle sent back they were gonna go over the hole cetme and then refinish it in the park finish. I also was on the phone with a builder for ST for around 30 mins discussing my issues. After talking with him I decided that my issues could be resolved by me and I did want the BFPU look anyways, that is why I bought it. I may talk more about what we talked about on the phone in a future video I went into the important stuff in this video. I’m happy with my cetme and am glad I got it.

I commend the seller for reaching out and trying to make you happy. I also respect and appreciate your stance on the firearm. Cleaning the firearms (cosmoline) after you first get them is half the fun.

Appreciate the cosmoline. You absolutely want those pins to be that tight you don’t want them coming out when/if you need it to stay put. They were designed to be not that easy to push those pins out If your mags are that tight file down your mag latch just a touch. All roller delay blowback guns are hard to insert loaded mags with bolt dropped. Yes even three rounds

Yea I know cosmoline has a job and it’s fine was just pointing out that I didn’t think it was cleaned like I would have expected for a refinished gun. My cetme L pins come out nice but yea he said there suppose to be tight so I believe him I’d rather they be tight and stay in then loose and come out. Thanks for the tip on the mags I figured there was a way to loosen that up.

I get the feeling you've never owned an HK before. Mags not going in with the bolt closed is absolutely normal. Pins being stubborn to remove is normal. Tight magazine wells is normal. The CETME & FNM kits on the market are all from worn out rifles. They are not going to fit together nice & tight. Parts are not going to move smoothly. G3 & CETME parts really don't move smoothly to begin with. Gritty is normal.

If firing from a mag w/one singular round loaded, even with an extractor missing/removed from the bolt, those G3 patterns will load, fire, extract, then typically stove-pipe the extracted round when the bolt returns home, pinning it by the bolt to case base/forward receiver ejection port area.... -Kinda weird to see/experience. Tried it on mine once for S & G's. The broached flutes present within the chamber & its rather violent action aid in 'Floating"...ripping rather, the round back out of chamber after ignition....;)

I purchased one of their Polish KBKG Type 3 milled AK47 - BFPU rifle, and had similar experience. I know they told you they are parking but most of what I have seen on Atlantic's website is crude paint jobs.

When you say you had a similar experience, what do you mean? Similar experience with the finish being janky? Or the gun not being assembled very well? I've had my eye on that same rifle you refer to. I'm not a super duper finish snob, but I can't be buying a gun that doesn't function properly. Give me your honest thoughts about it for the money you paid. Right now they have them listed at like 1500 or 1600 if I recall correctly

@@donjohnson5172 Don I have been a fan since Miami Vice. JK 😀 Concerning your question, It is my opinion a little more attention to detail should have been used, especially for the price. For example; the pins in the gas block and front sight post, looked like a 10 year old beat them in. They should have been pressed in. But in their defense, it looked better than what Atlantic had advertised. But I have always wanted a milled Type 3, especially one that didn't come from Century, so I took a chance. I have no issue with honest finish wear, but rust on the other hand, now that I take issue with. The one I received it wasn't terrible, just a lot of surface rust, some pitting on the butt plate. Fortunately, I have worked on AKs for years and I was able to clean everything up. I even refinished the receiver after I had the correct selector markings engraved. If you purchase one, Brownells oxpho-blue creme worked for me. Also, if you need replacement parts, Apex is about the only game in town concerning Polish milled parts. Maybe eBay? The function of the weapon, so far, no issues. Southern Tactical has responded to all of my emails. Course, I didn't get a satisfactory answer concerning what happened to the pins. So take all of that as you will, I am not telling you not to purchase one, but just be aware. If you purchase one, just make sure you inspected it well before filing out your 4473, with you local FFL. If it is total trash, contact Atlantic, they are usually good people to work with.

@@donjohnson5172 Don, Based on the amount of money that was being asked, the attention to detail was lacking. The primary issue I had was with the pins at the gas block and front sight. They appeared to have been beat in by a 10 year old, which marred the surrounding areas. I don't have an issue with honest wear on a firearm, but I do take issue with rust. There was surface rust on the entire weapon and pitting on the butt plate. I have been working on AKs for years so I was able to get everything restored. If you need parts for a milled Polish AK, Apex is about the only place, maybe eBay? Also, Brownells Oxpho-Blue cream works well, I even refinished the receiver after I had the correct selector markings engraved. In Southern Tactical defense, the weapon I received looked better than the one that Atlantic advertised. I had always wanted a Type 3 milled AK that didn't come from Century. So I admittedly I took a chance. Additionally, ST responded to all of my emails, course they didn't have a satisfactory answer for what happened with the pins. I am not saying to not get the weapon, if you purchase, just make sure that you inspected it thoroughly prior to signing the 4473. If it is total trash, I know Atlantic will work with you. I hope that was somewhat helpful, but I think I explained it better the first time?
