OneVoice412 that's a part of their style. They go hard when the music is loud and when the band softens the music they soften their moves. Every dancing doll line has practiced that style.
I love April. You can tell she didn't take herself too seriously, and it's always fun working under that kind of leadership. She understood dynamics, and was just so classy!
Dwight Lee 1 second ago Dude that's what made it sooo sweet. That's what I call "Dancing Of Da Ladies", So cool! There's three songs they should perform every games. 1. Whiskey 2. Free 3. I Love Southern & Let the those LADIES dance softly.
This is a beautiful danceline!!! The captain's personality is captivating. Even though the band kept stopping and going (due to SWAC regulations), they handled it well.... Love it!!! The Southern University Dancing Dolls are America's First HBCU Danceline!!!!
They were not the first. And every time you keep telling this lie I will keep correcting you...THE SOUTHERN BELLES WERE NOT THE FIRST HBCU'S DANCE LINE...!
Jon Doe Dear child (I do hope you're a child, based on your sentence structure), Thanks for your interest in The Dolls, Southern University in general, and me...... However, I'm confused. Either you can't read, or you have issues with topic maintenance. You see, I'm talking about The Fabulous Southern University Dancing Dolls, and you're talking about another group of Southern University trendsetters, The Southern University Belles. PLEASE HAVE SEVERAL SEATS!!! Also, it would do you good to seek a grammar tutor/coach.....
Oh dearest little simpleton, I think you meant to use a "period" behind the parenthesized word "structure" and NOT a "comma" ; especially since the letter "T'' in "Thanks" is capitalized. So what superior education system taught you THAT? A monkey could've EASILY comprehended my message...even the likes of you. But nevertheless, you got my point. Everybody from back in the day will always know the Dolls by their original name..."The Southern Belles". The name they acquired much later under Greggs was already taken by another group that converted from twirling to dancing. So at THAT point S.U'S Dolls were not the 1st. The problem is YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT lol. Why don't you call Greggs and ask him yourself. Oh I'm sorry sweetie...you can't. I can assure you he knows who the other set of Dancin Dolls were at that time. But its a pity YOU don't. So I'll just reiterate what I stated before...Southern University's Southern Belles/Dancin Dolls were NOT the 1st HBCU dance line. And everytime you tell this lie I will be right behind you to set the record straight...dear child. Oh, and F.Y.I, some of the ladies who were Dancin Dolls at the college that you know nothing about ARE on Facebook. Maybe you should go on Facebook and ask them. I'm sure they'll be MORE than happy to educate you about some things...
Jon Doe LOL! You're full of that brown stuff.... Yes dear, the period key and the comma key are right beside each other. Therefore, that type of typographical error is highly common among the educated, which gives credence to the importance of editing and editors... However, your deficit in the area of grammar, is deeply rooted in ignorance and the lack of experiences; both educationally, as well as within the context of your daily environment..... I can't compensate for your ignorance on youtube, but you can send me a private message if you'd like more schooling.... Now, back to topic.... There is no other college dance line who converted to dancing from twirling, that had the Dancing Doll name before the Dolls.... If there was, you would not be on here with a covert name selling pipe dreams, and you would name them instead of speaking in Bullsh@t code.... You're a joke, but not a funny one....
this is very new to me. I never attended a HBUC school. so I've been checking out all the dance teams. this team is easily my favorite. no one came close. very classy.
akapam57 hold up sis...it aIN'T that EASY, so sorry u didn't attend an HBCU, u missed the best part of Being Black, but check out the jaysettes entering CCC, go to jsu entering ccc 2013, girl-l-l your mind might scramble and u won't know who is actually best between these 2 battling Diva troupes it is 2 different styles, with Jaysettes holding down traditional step, welcome to the HBCU world, it is an AWESOME family.
ladymakini WOULD YOU KNOW IF SOMEONE TRYING TO STILL YOUR SHINE? stop stilling honour from SU get your own and do your own thing... smh talking about jsu brand is better lol thief trying to still fans for free ....I'm week
Cool Kids sugar I don't mean any harm but your spelling (or lack there of) is really too WEAK for presentation, STILL I understood your point, but, for future debates, the word in proper context is STEAL, add ing if it's present tense-STEALING. STOLE in past tense. but I was not stealing SU's shine, just adding a lil spice to the game!! lol..luv ya.
+akapam57 Yeah, even though the SU Dancing Dolls is my favorite, I like the entertaining quality of the JSU Prancing Jsettes, the Alabama State Stingettes, and the NC A&T Golden Delight.
This is one of the greatest dolls groups of all time and seeing them together again at the Dolls 50th Anniversary made me soooooo happy - I was just shook🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍
This band is playing the hell out of Whiskey! Add the awesome dancing from the Dolls and the whole affair is frikin entertaining as hell. Can't help but groove to the music. Damn!
I miss this squad so much!! This is when the Dolls had that glamour about them and the fieldshows this year were everything!! Can we please get ms.Jeanne back next season?
April was the most boring captain to me, she put me to SLEEP, no fire, no excitement smh she was cute on groove numbers and slow songs, they require less effort lol
So graceful, elegant and sassy..I love it!! I love this unique style and they own it..jsettes will always be my fav but no doubt the dolls are a force..a rather classy force, but still a force to be reckoned with.
I agree with u, the Jsettes are also my favorite,, but this dance really highlight, illiustrate how a great force the Dolls are for the Jsettes to reckon with, they walk that thin line well btwn classy sass and vulgarity, a real challenge in today's artistic market.
Its just so hard to remain fierce while your moves are gentle. Its like an oxymoron. But no team has been able to successfully do it but the dolls IMO. But by no means do I think that they are better because they don't buck. Bucking is still a style. I don't look at it as trashy or slutty. People seem to forget that that syle has african origins, its closer to our roots. Instead we let society tell us we are selling sex and our bodies..Nonsense.
Jaz D Wow!! not only do I also agree with this statement , it is the first time I've heard anyone (other than myself) make that obvious African connection!! It is particularly prevalent in Pledge Lines..
I looooooooooovvvvveeee the girl to the left of the captain.... everytime she dance I can always point her out she is absolutly amazing....she is the girls on the left at the end....
I love the way the dance they all look good and can dance they are very classy I would love love love to dance for them when I go off to college and that captain I freaking love her she knows her music unlike some captains she throws her counts depending on the beat and changes her the way her dances depending on the beat now that's a real dancer I hope I can be that good
Tight -ass dance from the dolls. Do it Girls! !HBCUs Rock, but in the words of Dr. William P. Foster (founding father of FAMU 100) "we don't do Burlesque" and as a proud Rattler Alumni I am happy to declare we still don't.
KP def cleaned them up a lot. Not saying they looked bad; however, overall motion placement and dancing with more precision (in the stands) was def noticeable with KP
APRIL is friggin' awesome. She's a dancer not just a DOLL. KP was a dancer, too. You can tell when you watch the other girls interpret the moves. The Dolls - unfortunately - are NOT always in synch.
Hey why is it when ever you guys film the stands you always chop out that one short girl that always sit on the very very right corner? LOL Thats my favorite member and i think one of the best dancers too tho i must admit that new girl with the honey tone hair .....she has got some skills
