Exactly 5 years ago today we said goodbye to a legendary pairing - Vulcan XH558 and Captain Kev Rumens. Together they performed some great displays and this was their very last - at the Southport Airshow.
This was shortly after the infamous Shoreham Airshow disaster and restrictions were in place for jet displays, but because this was over water we still got the full show - and a bonus formation flypast with the World-Famous RAF Red Arrows display team, with the Vulcan co-pilot taking the reigns for this flyby due to his previous experience of close formation flying.
The weather was great too, allowing the monsterous jet to look at its' bestas the sun reflected off one of the most beautiful shapes to ever take to the skies!
Please note that the take-off and landing shots were taken on a different day, but were added to enhance the video viewing experience.
Although this is old footage 95% of it has never been seen before by anyone but me.
