When calculating scope you must include the length from the tip of the bow sprit to the bottom of the seabed. IF your transducer is reading from the bottom of your boat you have to add the offset to the water surface. So.... lets say your transducer reads 15 feet and the offset is two feet to the surface and the bow sprit is 5 feet above the water surface. For a scope of 5 to one you would need to deploy 5( 15 + 2 + 5) or 5(22) or 110 feet of chain. The wind looks to be blowing about 15 or so knots so a 5 to one scope seems reasonable. Oh and the scope calculation should take into account any tide increases in depth. At 50 feet of chain you are anchoring with only a 2 to one scope if the assumptions above are near accurate.
