Southwest Airlines Captain Bryan Knight last saw his father, Col. Roy A Knight, at Dallas Love Field Airport when he was five years old. Col. Knight deployed to serve in the Vietnam War in 1967, where he was shot down and went missing in action. 52 years later, his body was identified. Captain Knight, also a USAF veteran, flew his father home to Dallas for the final time.

What a heartless and stupid comment. A 5 year old-that’s the age of a kindergartner-lost his father, a family’s life was changed forever. 52 years of not knowing really what happened to him, to not have anything tangible of him, to expect to never have closure...and then to be able to do so in such a beautiful way. Your ridiculous comment disrespects this family and service man. I am sure that a day hasn’t gone by in the past 52 years that this family hasn’t thought of their husband and father-the emptiness at holidays, family celebrations, milestones, or everyday experiences like a phone call or going out to lunch. I do think the son looks like his dad and I’m sure that was a blessing and a bane for him and for the people who knew and loved his father. Your comment wasn’t funny, it wasn’t witty, and it wasn’t necessary.

Who would possibly dislike this video?!? Not even going to lie, as someone who was born at Dwight D Eisenhower medical center on a military base and lived on Air Force bases growing up, my grandpa (who raised me) being a Vietnam veteran, who served more than 20 years in the Air Force and the vast majority of my family, including women, all being Air Force veterans, I fr shed a tear watching this video. If I wasn't physically disabled, even trying to join but being rejected, I would have joined the Air Force as well. What a blessing for this man, who's a an Air Force veteran himself, and his family after 52 years. May God continue to bless him and his family and God bless all of our veterans!
