Floridians are on a whole other level of brave for facing these storms so often. I grew up in tornado alley and this stuff is scary even for me! Everyone be safe and get yourself out if you can! Hang in there Florida, we're all praying for you!
Donald will be there tossing paper towels to wipe the wing sauce and doing a Photo OPP! Might even break out a Benjamin for the Photo and shove it back in his pocket!
Reporting from Brooksville north Tampa bay. Eery calm before the storm. Prayers for all in Florida and the many that were affected and taken by Helene 😢 Thank you for all the kind words people!!
Left Lido Key yesterday ( most likely never seeing my cottage again) to stay with Cousins in St.Augustine. Find out this morning, I have to evacuate St Augustine. I wish my friends and neighbors well.

🦋Yuh know something?🤔... 10-15 feet of water isn't easy to swim in for the average human being...imagine the elderly & kids🤔 The problem also is that bigger hurricanes can carry sharks, snakes and gators along with it... For the dotish human beings staying behind...the fastest, cheapest & most intelligent thing to do now is to buy a life raft Prepare it with flashlights, raincoats, snacks & water Please mention this on air
Biggest revelation for me is that a drop in category can mean INCREASED storm surge. Here's why 1) Category is based on wind speed because that's easiest to measure but 2) Storm surge is more influenced by size since the more water pushed, the more it piles up 3) When windspeed drops the hurricane increases in size like a skater opening their arms. I think, if weathercasters explained why a category drop could lead to more storm surge - or at least that storm surge isn't necessarily going to drop when the category drops - it might help people make wiser decisions (long-term we need a better system for ranking hurricanes, but it's hard to come up with a simple rating system to inform for multiple factors - wind, surge, rain).
Wow, for people who are in Tampa, especially near downtown, by the stadium, Clearwater, St. Pete , riverview, Lutz, lakewhale, evacuate. That's when the bay and the ocean became one pushing water to city I used to stay in Tampa I know . (My Haitian zo nou tande di)evacuate nou pa konn naje
@@Burkocet it really depends which part of port Charlotte, i live in pc amd saw mininal damage from ian aside from minimal roof damage we did not get destetoyed but likely charlotte harbor did for sure
That last thing West FL can handle, especially Tampa St. Pete Clearwater is another hurricane, so soon. And Milton might be more destructive. May God's Love be with us all!
It was 12 MPH. I don’t care what the changes are a hurricane if you live at sea level coming your way? Put your name on your forehead and strap on your floaties Donald will come save you!,

Why don't you use resources like existing maps to show what the local storm surge is projected to be, rather than that generic 6'-10' storm surge for the entire area? Not every place gets storm surge, few do, and you're making it seem that it's going to be everywhere.
I see no comments on the internet, with all the calls to move inland, to follow evacuation orders, etc,, about the fact that there is a severe scarcity of gasoline. Most of the gas stations are closed.
Elections should be postponed to November 2028 due to this national tragedy and out of respect to the millions of flordians who perished during hurricane Milton and its aftermath. The speaker of the house should be the president until the next election in four years. The casualties of hurricane Milton surpassed ww1 and ww2 combined and the nation should set aside politics during this national tragedy.
If it strengthens to Cat 5, it’ll make landfall as a definite category four. I said what I said prove me wrong. Look at Harvey Aug 25,2017 They predicted a Cat 3 and it land d on the cost as a Cat 4. Meteorologist aren’t always right. There predictions are best guess..
My thoughts are with you. Sending all the positive vibes/ prayers/ good wishes. I’m also in Florida but on the other coast. Please check in after the storm passes/ when you’re able. It’ll be a bumpy ride but you will get through it.
Wink is too far left and that’s why I don’t always watch the show, but this guy, sorry I forget his name right now, I very much enjoy the weather forecasts from him. I watch him through every hurricane and I feel very comfortable and confident hearing his forecasts. Thank you since Irma.
bad advice for a storm that will remain 70+mph across the inland .. 'surge' is definitely NOT the biggest dynamic and affects only those on the immediate coast, probably less than 1% of the population .. the biggest dynamic is tree strikes on structures and direct wind damage to roofs wi dows and trailors especially, trailors are a 'death' trap in 70+ ..trees will snap like toothpicks and come down on you in your house ..'inland' is NOT safe in the direct path unless your in a strong structure away from trees .. so there, you stand corrected😂
