I can't help but think how similar my family's journey has been to what these early immigrants faced. We have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for our entire lives. Unable to afford to buy a home here we finally bought a parcel of "raw" land near Flagstaff Az.. This is year 8 of a 5 year plan. It's a 750 trek over the Mojave desert from San Francisco to Williams Az. We've traveled over this route now several dozen times (twice a year for 3-4 weeks each time). hauling thousands of pounds of lumber, timbers, tools, equipment and supplies. I often think of the early travelers who were only on foot or horseback and how lucky we are to have my Ford F350 (now 20 years old). If we break down I know it will make the trip a nightmare but proper planning and cell phone service will help us navigate whatever we encounter. I'm a good mechanic and my son is a master heavy equipment mechanic so I know that whatever happens we can deal with it. Self reliance and meticulous planning gives you confidence. Overcoming adversity gives you courage. You become unstoppable.

Thank you Alan for sharing your collection of the Wild wild West history. With all of us !!!!! I was wondering if the Indians could have known that those people in the Big ship that they helped in the winter and teach them how to grow crop , was going to take their Land and massacre their families like they did. They could have set the ship on fire. And the history could have been different geographycally. White to The East ,/ Black to the West/ Latino to the South/ and to the North for who ever volunteer to live in a mix of all races. America could have been different than what it is today. Look how Congress has destroyed this nation. And now corporations owns the power and the people is left behind. Amazing 😅😅 just a wishful thinking. On a Sunday with 103 degrees.
