As someone who works in the court system, I hate dealing with sovereign citizens. Not only are they aggravating, some are dangerous. I avoid them as much as possible.

The "I, woman Angela" sovereign citizen was in another video, where she got drunk and refused to leave a hotel. Police arrested her, and she promptly peed on herself in the car. Real prize, this one.

Weird story- In the early 90's the Sovereign Citizen movement was pretty big here. I knew a person that told me that we're only supposed to pay 2 cents to mail a standard letter. I didn't believe it so he sent me a letter via the USPS. The letter had several stamps referring the post office to read different codes. It also had a two one cent stamps. I should have saved it. I couldn't believe it worked. I still think the post office just let it go through so they didn't have to deal with the group coming in. :)

I've seen a lot of these sovereign citizen cases come up, and 100% of the time it does not work to their favour with any form of legal proceeding. So why even try to bother with it if the success rate is actually 0%?

My favorite all time reply to a sov citizen. After he said he wasn’t a living person the judges reply, “if you were dead this case would be dismissed”.

It isn't the court's responsibility to explain law to a Sovereign citizen. Their requirement is to ask a defendant whether or not they want an attorney. After that, the pro se should be left on his own.

The level of patience Judge Middleton has will always blow my mind. I'm glad he's in this role because I don't know very many people who wouldn't have lost their mind in that same position 😂 He's more than earned a long and happy retirement in a few years

They’re just people who have a need for everything to be about them, from cornflakes in the morning to driving cars with no documentation. It’s a way to make everyone talk about them constantly. They don’t mind the laws when it suits them but that’s about it. They talk over anyone who defies bowing down to their points of view and unless it’s about them, they’re not interested.

If they feel like it is all a sham and that the court does not have jurisdiction over them, why show up to court in the first place?

I don’t understand how sovereign citizens get charges dropped for not having a license when regular law abiding citizens have to pay to have their licenses!! IDK who these laws were written for the criminals or LACs??

I work at Frederick Maryland corrections facilities and we've recently had a few Sovereigns defect cause they don't believe that the US has any jurisdiction over them and here you have to pay a fee to defect and when you're released you need a green card and everything else an immigrant would need we recently had a defector got arrested and flown off to Cuba so needless to say he's no longer a US citizen.

I get really frustrated when I see judges somewhat enabling this mess rather than being firm. SC are notorious for contempt of court yet it's crazy to see so many judges just letting it fly.

Living in Australia 🇦🇺 this nonsense isn’t a thing that happens, mainly because we don’t have a Bill of Right or a constitution of rights. But this nonsense about being a woman, man or a thing is starting to make a show in our courts. I like how your judges set a line in the ground. They cost the courts huge dollars. And telling the Judge I can’t be there for my hearing unless you pay for my petrol and time, is something else. If they don’t like how the courts work, well don’t do the crime!!!!

i don't think db was truly sovereign. i think he latched onto the concept and ran with it as his defense. he probably does believe in it because he's contrary but he's contrary in general.

FWIW, Michael Dagher-Margosian, the public defender in the Lenawee (read: len-away) County case is a lovely guy and one of the most skilled legal professionals I know of. I was lucky enough to interview him for a criminal justice class I took in college- entirely unrelated to my major, it was an elective, but he still was nice enough to spare some time for me. Darrel Brooks didn't actually believe it would work. He wanted to be held in contempt and go back to his cell (like he screamed several times while being dragged to the other courtroom) so that the trial couldn't proceed and eventually have to be dropped. I believe Sov Cits should be charged with intimidation when they threaten that they are going to file things against the court and all people involved unless they withdraw the charges. That is an intimidation tactic used to try and get their own way.

I don’t have a problem with someone representing themselves, but I do not agree with defendants interviewing victims or their families of violent crimes (assault, abuse, stalking, etc.). Defendants should be required to have a defense attorney for victim interviews. Imagine the trauma of victims and their families being interviewed by that monster, Darrel Brooks. I do not agree with capital punishment except for cases like his.

Imagine walking down a sidewalk in the dark when a heavily armed man, with his gun drawn, runs up towards you giving you directives to get on your knees and put your hands on your head, interlocking your fingers. Upon closer examination as the man approaches, you notice he’s wearing a McDonald’s uniform wearing a McDonald’s badge giving you directives. He tells you that you are in violation of Section 3, subsection 2(a)(iii) of the McDonald’s Act for not wearing a red clown nose 🤡. As you’re being handcuffed, more McDonald’s officers show up to “secure the scene”. You ask the McDonald’s officer; “what’s going on? I’m not employed with McDonald’s nor am I subject to their Orders, statutes, codes, and regulations.” They respond by saying; “you’ll have your day in our court. We have a McDonald’s appointed judge to hear your case and your are entitled to a McDonald’s appointed attorney to defend you.” You respond with; “Whaaaaat?” The McDonald’s officer’s load you up in their clown car and take you to their McDonald’s jail to await for their McDonald’s judge to hear your case and to set a McDonald’s trial. You receive a McDonald’s citation for the crime of not wearing a red clown nose. Upon closer inspection of the “NOTICE OF VIOLATION”, you realize that citation is written in Dog-Latin (all-uppercase text that does not conform with any of the rules of the written English language), including an all-uppercase name that appears to be similar to yours, with other parts of the citation written in grammatically correct English. What’s going on here? Is this legitimate? Is the paperwork issued to you a counterfeit; a fraud? Are you in their jurisdiction? Who is the victim? Is “McDonald’s” (the corporation) the victim? What is happening here? How are you a part of this organization? Are you on payroll to be subject to their statutes, codes, ordinances, regulations, and their corporate charter and constitution? Did your mother “register” you with McDonald’s as an employee or an agent; but you have yet to sign a binding contract or receive a paycheque from the corporation? How is this possible? How is this possible, ladies and gentlemen?
