What is meant by the Sovereignty.
In its popular sense the term Sovereignty means 'Supremacy' or 'Right to demand obedience'.
A Sovereign state is one which is subordinate to no other.
It is Supreme over the territory under its control.
It issues orders which all men and all Association within its territory are bound to obey.
Sovereignty is the chief attribute of statehood.
In ancient time there was no concept of sovereignty as it is understood in the Modern Times.
French political thinker Jean Bodin was the first writer who used the word sovereign by which he meant the absolute and perpetual power within a State.
According to Hobbes (thinker of natural School of law) - The sovereign is absolute and not bound by anything its power extend over all matters within the State, including religion.
