Those flak towers were key in the defense of Berlin three of them built in positions to create a triangulation of anti-aircraft fire over the city center. The large guns at the top you see used are twin mount (128mm) 12.8cm FlaK 40 (Flakzwilling) high velocity guns that weighed about 27 tonnes and considered one of the most effective and feared heavy AA guns of that era. The Berlin Zoo flak tower used these guns to support ground troops and could obliterate any Soviet armoured vehicle and did just that during this battle, where dozens of Soviet tanks met their demise just from these 3 FlaK towers. Aside from its main armament the towers also had smaller caliber 2cm FlaK 30 guns that could hit targets almost 10 miles away with a 360 degree field of fire. You couldn't destroy these things either, with walls of almost 1 ft of solid concrete that even the 203 mm M1931 howitzers one of the largest and most powerful guns the Soviets had, couldn't do much damage to these things. The battle of Berlin overall cost the Soviets at least 80k Casualties. 30k of those in just the battle of Seelow Heights (the Gates of Berlin) alone.

I was adopted at birth and after taking a DNA test when I was 50 I found out that my grandfather was Otto Meissner who had strong ties to Hitler and the Nazi party. I was blown away when I found this out . I also live down the street from Don Miller ( my best client and retired Lafayette professor ) who had a huge hand in Tom Hanks mini series Band of Brothers , the pacific and now the masters of the sky.

The attention to detail is great. Dontiz gave his personal guard in the defense of Berlin, thats why you see some kreigsmarine soldiers. The flak towers are a great addition. In editor i was able to use french soldier templates and french waffen ss skins that some one created, so the soldier speak french and used the ss uniform, would of been i nice addition if you could have done it in the video as well as using some Gew 98, MG08 and mp28. Otherwise great job.

The Battle of Berlin, designated as the Berlin Strategic Offensive Operation by the Soviet Union, and also known as the Fall of Berlin, was one of the last major offensives of the European theatre of World War II.[f] After the Vistula-Oder Offensive of January-February 1945, the Red Army had temporarily halted on a line 60 km (37 mi) east of Berlin. On 9 March, Germany established its defence plan for the city with Operation Clausewitz. The first defensive preparations at the outskirts of Berlin were made on 20 March, under the newly appointed commander of Army Group Vistula, General Gotthard Heinrici. When the Soviet offensive resumed on 16 April, two Soviet fronts (army groups) attacked Berlin from the east and south, while a third overran German forces positioned north of Berlin. Before the main battle in Berlin commenced, the Red Army encircled the city after successful battles of the Seelow Heights and Halbe. On 20 April 1945, Hitler's birthday, the 1st Belorussian Front led by Marshal Georgy Zhukov, advancing from the east and north, started shelling Berlin's city centre, while Marshal Ivan Konev's 1st Ukrainian Front broke through Army Group Centre and advanced towards the southern suburbs of Berlin. On 23 April General Helmuth Weidling assumed command of the forces within Berlin. The garrison consisted of several depleted and disorganised Army and Waffen-SS divisions, along with poorly trained Volkssturm and Hitler Youth members. Over the course of the next week, the Red Army gradually took the entire city. On 30 April, Hitler committed suicide (with several of his officials also dying by suicide shortly afterwards).
