Why is everyone comparing her to Taeyeon? Give her credit. She deserves the spotlight. I'm a SONE but I do appreciate her talent and not compare it to anyone else.
This cover is not to sway you from liking the original. Can we all just enjoy what Soyeon brings to the the song, please? She has a lot of control over her voice. Good job~
As a Sone, I feel proud when someone covers my girls' songs, cuz no matter their covers are good or not, at least they love Soshi' songs and appreciate my girls, and I love that. Comparison here is meaningless. Well done Soyeon and pls keep loving Taeyeon sunbaenim ok? ;)
I LOVE THIS ! TAEYEON MUST BE PROUD THAT HER HOOBAE COVER HER SONG ! LABOUM FIGHTING , I HOPE THIS GOT VIRAL AND PEOPLE WILL PAY ATTENTION MORE TO LABOUM #ProudSONE
Both Soyeon and Taeyeon have oustanding vocals. ;) I thoroughly enjoyed this cover, and this song is not easy, there are very low notes at the beginning and the chorus is very high. I respect Soyeon's talent, she was amazing! ^^ I'm both a Latte and SONE and I'm not going to compare the two. ;) Soyeon, hwaiting! ^^
i don't think you should compare to taeyeon, taeyeon's vocal is by far the top 2 in kpop idol industry so no one can beat her original song but soyeon's vocal is great, her voice is enjoyable and she did this song a great job, not screw up so let's enjoy her....don't drag taeyeon into it, it's kinda unfair :)
I agree that Taeyeon has gorgeous vocals and a pretty good technique as well, but Top 2 in K-Pop idol industry? I think you forgot Ailee, Lee Haeri (DAVICHI), Shannon Williams, and Luna (FX). All four of them has better vocal technique than Taeyeon. Taeyeon is still in the Top 10 though, but she's for sure not in the Top 2.
Moza Azhary ailee, haeri and shannon are solo artist, they are not idols, luna is great vocalist but she is still quite far from taeyeon's level....music expert did vote for taeyeon and hyorin are top 2 idol vocalist, the other in top 5 are junsu, jonghyun and eunji
You should specify your comment by saying "idol groups" then, some soloist are also idols because they also promote on music shows just like other idols. Non-idols are the people that did not promote on music shows like Brown Eyed Soul, Awesome Baby, Ock Joo Hyun Park Hyoshin, Lim Chang Jung, etc. Also, Lee Haeri is not a soloist, she's in Davichi. Well, I don't know, music expert opinions can vary because they sometimes used subjective things to judge a vocalist like tone and emotion. Kyuhyun did not make it into the list (although by far he's the male idols with best vocal technique) solidifies my point. Vocal technique is the only objective way if you want to see how skillful some of theze vocalist actually are. Technique wise, Luna is better than all those Top 5 vocalist you mentioned. She can maintain a proper breath support technique and vocalize with good placement up to Eb5, Taeyeon and also Eunji only up to D5 (which is already good by the way). Hyorin used to be the same/better than Luna back in 2014/2015, but her technique regressed quite significantly since she developed some bad habits as a vocalist so for now she's actually below Taeyeon, supports up to C#5 (which is still good nonetheless). Junsu + Jonghyun are indeed on the same level with Taeyeon.
Moza Azhary 0.0 i think you're just bias luna way to much, luna is fading when she sang along with ailee and eunji 0.0 i don't hate luna but her voice is not that strong compare to taeyeon, you are the first one ever said luna is the above taeyeon and there's one more thing, luna can only be a good singer in korea....that's not my own opinion, but i think you should enjoy soyeon, luna is not the right one to point out for this conversation, we are kinda carrying away
I don't even like f(X) though. And its not about Luna's voice, but its about her technique, about how she used her voice as an instrumental. Read carefully, my comments did not imply that Luna have a stronger voice than Taeyeon, my comments only implies that she have a stronger technique. Taeyeon's voice may sound stronger and bolder because she tend to use chestier approach in her singing, Luna sounds brigher/lighter because her approach is even between her chest register and head register. Soyeon is nice, but she didn't have a strong enough breathing technique as Taeyeon or Luna. She did okay. Keep in mind, my comments are only about their TECHNIQUE and not about their VOICE in general.
I heard some cover of Rain and this is the best one so far, closest to the original. Her voice is not yet skillful and clean like taeyeon, but sound nice and pleasant, consider this song is hard to sing, other singer sound struggling while singing this.
i'm a huge fan of Soyeon - my favotie Kpop artist at the moment - but i don't regard her as among the very best of the singers at this time - her voice is a tad bit too thin - and not secure (i worry when she has to negotiate the higher notes) - however - i agree that she's better than Wendy and Yuju - even tho i admire them too - - fyi - i rank Apink Eunji & Ailee (among others) as superior to Soyeon
