Classic example of finding a design that works, and making incremental improvements over time as new technologies come online. The Honda Civic and Accord are prime examples like the Soyuz. Nice engineering, nice program management, Russians.
The Russians first landed on the moon in 1959, Japanese finally did it this year. To compare a Honda Civic to the Russian space program, are you kidding? 🥴
Actually have you notice that , how much relaxed those engineers ...imagine if it was in NASA...all.those wearing special suits and caps bla bla bla ...and too much tension ...how a human can perform in his max at that kind of tensed environment ???
The spacecraft are without question safe, the Soyuz has had almost 2000 flights with only 3 launch aborts and one orbital abort. Meanwhile their fighters are a different story
This is kind of cool. Look at the Russian technicians working with no gloves or face masks, and no torque wrench, just a common wrench. That Soyuz is a tough, reliable work horse.
Jacek Jaworski Poland can into space. I would love to see a Polish Cosmonaut going up to the space station. Why is Poland never participating in such awesome things?
All those analogue dialogs and bulky controls that probably haven't changed since the 70s. These are people that know that if something isn't broke, you don't fix it.
Every member of that team should be proud! Amazing work. Every detail checked and rechecked. I wonder if the heads of the screws were painted because of some other reason other than cosmetic?
Imagine if Russia would put this much effort into developing their own reusable launch and return space crafts,.the commercialization of space would begin in ernest.
Latelely the head of Roskosmos has admitted that SpaceX and it's approach is the future. I hope that they will start working on reusable rocket project soon.
they already have came up with something, they figured the engines are the majority of the cost of the rockets, so they will now decouple engines, and they will land gently using parachutes
I get the feel that 'people' are building this Space Craft and they all have a stake in this. Like the 1960's NASA, MIT, civilian corporations. ...Unlike Today , where it gets built by ostentatious contractors and career bureaucrats who self circle jerk for the media.
Big Capsule adds more weight and would require more thrust which would require more fuel, but more fuel will also add more weight. The spacecraft has to strike a balance between weight and thrust. If you make rocket too big, it will require way too much fuel, so you have to settle somewhere. The soyuz is fine for its intended purposes. Soyuz is comfortable in essence that there is a space module which is empty during launch and has a toilet so the cosmonauts can relax once they reach space. It is slightly bigger, but even if one crew crawls into the space module the other 2 will have plenty space to be comfortable. Also they take off their space suits once in space. So that frees quite a bit of space.
I really don't like the desing of the soyuz as much as i like the desing of the orion spacecraft but that doesn't mean this machine isn't an interesting one. It is for sure.
Man I would hate dawning those space suits very cumbersome I could not do space I am closterphobic I love seeing mankind do it but I will just fly around in our atmosphere .
W.A.B mobile entertainment If you had a chance to go to space, you would do everything to overcome your phobia. Any phobia is curable. You just need to subject yourself to it.
AW that's not a space suit per say but a emergency pressure suit that would inflate with air applying mechanical pressure to the cosmonauts in the event of a loss of cabin pressure during reentry.
so many manual operation by fault-prone human. It's a miracle that there wasnt more failure of human-rated spacecraft (of any country). When you're building complex things by hand , you know you're still only at the stone age of space exploration. I cant wait to see a rocket-to-launch (or spaceship) that is 100% computer / robot driven without human intervention. THEN we will be a space faring civilization. Congrats on the Russian though for building one of the most reliable spacecraft ever
I think REAL interstellar spaceships should not be assembled by robots, they must be grown)) Genetics rules! Imagine a big space roach with the cargo/personnel compartment... Google for "LEXX" )))
I think he means mass producing spacecraft on an automated assembly line. I don't think he understands that even the most common jet aircraft are not mass produced in that way. Still, I get what you're saying, rcknroll35.
this vid is mostly lifting up and putting down the capsule assy without any real manufacturing ops or am i missing something? sure does look like putin directing the crane... a nice time lapse of the whole process would be nice.
Bhushan Patil Get piloting experience and/or a science/medicine/engineering degree, apply at your countries space agency (NASA, RSA, ESA etc.) hope to get picked, and start training. Learning Russian and some computer programming as well some flying experience prior becoming an Astronaut, will make you more attractive. Be physically active, and know a thing or too about the human body.

Only the staff is not yet aware that what they build doesn't go to space. Also was very interesting to watch how those so called "astronauts" having a conversation behind the glass just like in prison.
Hmmm 🤔 It's russian, so probably both - rocket and crew - run on vodka 🔥💥☄️🚀 It would also explain why they haven't been on the moon yet. Dimitri drank too much of the precious fuel and they had to return to earth. #truestory #probablynot 👀
In fact, the USSR sent people to Mars, and brought 4 tons of Martian soil. But all the video was lost, and the Martian soil burnt in the fire. The drawings of the rocket and engine were eaten by the mouse, so Russia can not repeat the flight. Here is the proof en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irony
It's pretty pathetic that Russia has had this much time but they refuse to deviate from their ancient outdated designs and technology. This lack of creativity or a desire to improve is exactly why Russia will never be number one. You cannot claim to be a leader in the space industry when you can't even compete against a billionaire's private rocket company. Surely an entire nation can do better than a single man with ambition.
