Each button is a sampled part of the song. They're pressing the buttons in a specific sequence / rhythm to trigger the sample and create the beat that you hear.
The bottom 3 pads are the kick, snare, hat and the rest are samples from the record. I use my thumb for the kick so I can trigger a sample at the same time as playing a drum pattern.
Why don't most people cut the beginning of the vocals out of the last 1 or 2 beats? It's so easy to find an identical spot in the song and swap out the beginning of the vocal phrase to get a smooth loop again. That's what gets on my nerves with Madlib too. Otherwise just a killer beat that I would have loved to produce! Greetings from Germany
@@taiao7700 If it's an Adlib (uh, ah, oh, a breathe or something like that) I leave it in the sample too. But the beginning of a word that doesn't even fit the context of the rap text has to be removed. And that's exactly what Madlib does all the time. He's my favorite rap producer but that just annoys me. On the other hand, I should thank him because that's exactly why I started cutting it out in my beats. Greetings from Germany
