Michael, we can see your personality by your driving.....just like we can se an artist from their paintings and a peot from their poetry....you are one hell of a slick driver under pressure and your planning and alignment not to mention strategy into corners is very impressive. (i am a TR6 owner for 40 years and now on my second rebuild :/)
Hello Andy, thanks for your kind words 🙂 BTW: There will be new race action within the next weeks. After Corona-break we are getting back racing. Again in Spa-Francorchamps, again 3h race, again a Triumph car, but a new one. See you soon...
My Uncle (who was by a quirk of fate was only 3 years my senior) was a studio jazz drummer for Capital Records. In his opinion and his favorite drummer, was Keith Moon. He described Moon in the same ways you have here. That was always good enough for me. Strangely, I became a bassist (although I also played drums) and my hero was John Entwistle.
Hallo Michael, very much traffic this year. Pleased to see you going that fast, while managing to avoid incidences. Your fair driving was rewarded with 1st Place in the Triumph Competition or "overseas" group. Thanks for that, Stephan
Great driving - I had no idea a TR6 could go so fast and give E types etc. a run for their money ! I will treat mine with greater respect when I get it back on the road :-) .
Great driving! I would encourage you to blip during down changes to make life easier on your engine, transmission and rear tyres ... especially as not the greatest gearbox
SUPERB!!LONG LIVE the TR6 and your jolly good racing manners.I watched that from my office chair at home and was leaning and shouting relative abuse to the 'THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE'.Brilliant drive.
Tyres Yokohama A048R 195/55x15 ? Those tires are short and narrow. Pictures on the web of this car appear more "square" Steering wheel = Moto-Lita Mark 4? Great driver and car!
@@jamesbn23 I appreciate you like the video. Cylinderblock, crankshaft, cylinder head, Lucas petrol injection and distributor are derived from stockparts, most other components like pistons, conrods, flywheel, clutch and gearbox internals are bespoke race components. Some you can buy and some had been designed for purpose. A list of all the modification would fill a booklet. Regards Stephan
Hello Michael, mesmerising performance. I have a TR but not with this sort of performance or sound. Would you mind telling me a but about your car please> Thanks Peter New Zealand.
Hi Peter, thank you.The TR6 is owned by my team mate Stephan S., he built it and he also built the engine. What do you like to know ? Same details are listed in the comment below the video.
Thanks Michael, you drove really strongly yet stayed out of trouble. My car was in historic racing in New Zealand but is just a treasured road car now. This footage though makes me realise it must be a real buzz historic racing. To see the dream cars of my youth really pushed to the limit is fantastic. Your car was a match for the E Type which was very interesting. When you say 4 speed dog-box what do you mean?? The changes were so slick and quick I don't think it is the standard Triumph box??
For mor historic race cars check also my videos from Spa 3h race...The 4 gear dog box is a racing gearbox. The housing is origional TR6, but the insightstuff is racing stuff. With a dog box you can shift without applying the clutch, but i just did it once in the pit lane.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one single state operated central gasstation per city and county. :-(
