What I was hoping to figure out is what the heck this samples. Because I either recognize it, or something that also sampled the same source, and it'd driving me nuts.
wow great reference to that video we just watched!! Haha i love oliver, me and him are actual friends, like my opinion matters to him, we are friends like in real life, Im gonna go give him so many so he knows my name! because we are friends.
Not gonna lie. Great vid from philosophy tube. So many things to think about, and as with all his vids I'm gonna revisit it. but what I mainly got tonight is the fact that I need to listen to some tastey music! Been bogging my noggin with so much heavy shit lately. Need some beats and a break! Digging the fuck out of Space Baby! open.spotify.com/artist/1roZzwVIoXtBF97g4TImeL?si=wL5DWeCcRfisUwkgKMlYLA
Those coming from Abigail's video (I'm in the same boat) - make sure you explore the rest of this channel, there's a great educational series on gentrification & housing that's educational and fun to watch.
Am I catching some Kurt Vonnegut / Slaughterhouse-5 references? "So it goes", "4th Dimension", "Cat's Cradle", maybe more? Thanks to PhilosophyTube for bringing me here
Yeah I wrote the first two verses like six years ago when I was reeeeaaallly heavy into Vonnegut and would refuse to read anybody but him haha. I never recorded it tho. Then two years ago I added that third verse
I thought I recognised the sample from "Lovage - Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By" until someone here pointed out the original sample - what a find!
Thoughtful lyrics delivered with a great flow to a chill beat. Also something vaguely old school about the overall feel that I can't pinpoint, but I dig it. Awesome work, Man
OH! That's what this is. It was driving me totally nuts. Because of that, now I know that lovage sampled: Glass House I Don't See Me in Your Eyes Anymore
if anyone wonders, the beat is taken (?) from ta-ku "50 days for jdilla" (and probably slightly re-arranged and also extended) i was sure i had heard that before long ago
