The Gal Civ scene with the colorful high-res ships was the best I've seen in a long time. Granted they literally shot nothing but the same beam so they need some diversity.

This is what i was thinking before reading the description: The directors were probably thinking, let's combine star trek and star wars, add spaceships originated from the craziest of a mature imaginations, add so many lasers so you can't really see whats going on, kill off any ships, some a viewer might hope to survive, get a pro visual effects guy and pray he could to this , and a person with the idea to do this, someone who is AMAZING, someone who gives me inspiration for my future movie.

***** The original music and sound effects would sound better for a compilation as well. You just flat out lose the sound effects which is just an unmitigated bad thing, and the original music is better than this techno track as well.

Absolutely agree, although battle sounds in space do not exist except where there is air inside the ship for the sounds to happen. but sound effects do make movies better.

Heart-pounding thrill ride.. every genre represented. Great. But really, if space battles ever take place they can't be fought with manned dreadnoughts and waves of fighter pilots.. just too expensive and outdated. It's obvious even in this exposition that size doesn't matter. Even now unmanned, smart vehicles and weapons and mines begin to dominate conflicts and especially not-on-the-ground. Transporter and FTL technologies (others not yet conceived) make most any big ship and especially an armada of big ships outdated and vulnerable to instant attack, anywhere, anytime, without warnings. Existing tech is forcing the same realities on the big naval air-carrier groups here now.

I see what you are saying; first that's 'current gen stuff' second; it would be waves of countless purposed and random-attack 'drones'.. unstoppable. Just to clarify.. 'shields' are hypothetical at best.. even if they could be made effective against radiation weapons.. kinetic weapons would not be stopped. You don't watch enough of real science. ;) Thanks!

+SouthernInquirer55 Shields theoretically stop all forms of matter, whether radiation, kinetic or energy based. Transporter and FTL technology are just as theoretical. There was a ship in SGU that launched tons of small unmanned attack drones so that idea has been done.

Theoretically.. yet even in these stories the future Romulan mining ship emerges it shoots hardened guided missiles that decimate an entire shielded Federation fleet. The whole shields thing is bogus.. they have enough energy to fold space but not to protect themselves? Bogus.. thanks.

wow man you did a very dedicated work, nice battles, still you missed some cool battles from Enemy Mine, Wing Commander, Ender's Game, Iron Sky, Star Craft 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Halo and Starship Troopers, well technically there's no actual battles in starship, just a bunch of human cruisers getting destroyed by massive plasma ass interestellar bug cannons

+Eri Sadly those are the JJ verse version of photon torpedoes which can still be fired at warp speeds. Those were not phasers or any type of phased energy beam weapon.

Nothing looks real anymore every movie looks like a video game. People prefer and love large scale practical models and effects. Hollywood nah fuckem lets not give them what they like or the option.
