I am an attorney. I have been using 2014 mac book air since I joined the Marines! I took her to Afghanistan and Iraq. So much memories with that labtop. It actually is still holding up good but it’s really getting slower and glitches here and there while I am submitting important documents to court. I bought pro max today.

Getting my 14" m3 pro tomorrow. Freelance web developer, this machine won't replace my desktop with a 12700k / 4090, but it will be nice for side projects and the like.

I do a lot of video editing for personal projects and paid ones. I’m still working on a MacBook Pro from 2019 so the upgrade is needed. I chose to go with the space black 16” m3 pro chip

Same I get mine today. I got the 14 inch space black M3. Spent 2000 dollars on it and also got a Apple LaCie USB-C Secuirty drive. So that all of my personal work and stuff I went to keep secret from my Mac, I will be able to using that. That costed like 130. I can’t wait to get it today. All of my Apple products are black, I have a Black iPhone 13 Pro, personalized Black AirPod pros, Black Beats, Black Apple Watch. I even have a black Apple Water bottle. Yes a apple water bottle. It connects to my Apple Watch and phone and it tracks how much water I intake based off my weight and height. And sends notifications if I don’t drink enough. You can get it off the Apple Store for like 300? I think? The only thing I don’t have that is black is my Microsoft desktop all in one computer which is white. And I’m either gonna use it in duality with my Mac for college and work or ima sell it. But I can’t wait to get mine today I hope you enjoy yours too!!

Thank you for your informative review. I just purchased the 16in. M3 Max Space Black 3499.00 version. I'm coming from a mid 2015 MacBook Pro, I can't to see the difference in them. I bet it's going to like coming from a 60 Corvette to the new C8.

I got the M3 Pro and decked this thing out with 36GB of memory. No more dropped frames killing my workflow. It just works. 22GB of RAM used up for working with 5.8K videos. 18GB of RAM used up doing DCI 4K60 videos. Ouch. Couldn't really work with it on the M1 Pro. You'd need to render out the timeline, no one buys the MacBook Pro just to have to do that. People buy it for it to just work and get things done.

The issue with m3 pro this year is when u get those little upgrades, you’re 100$ off the baseline m3 max. It doesn’t seem worth it to settle at m3 pro

exactly, they want you to buy macbook air or max. If you settle inbetween with storage and ram upgrade, you'll be baited to go up a tier because of how close are the prices and how overpriced they are.

@@TylerMarsh87 I kept the 18gb. I don't do a lot of VMs or similar. I use it a bit for some games, mobile use when I travel, probably a Linux VM to study, word processing, some light photography work, that sort of thing, so 18gb RAM is more than enough. If I need more power, I have a razer blade 16 with 64gb RAM for that. I went with the pro because I prefer active cooling, and like the mini-LED screen, plus the battery life is unreal for a 14"

Im still debating between m3 and m3 pro 😭 im currently studying visual arts so i use creative adobe apps (not a currently a heavy user but maybe in the future for free lance?) but also the m3 longer battery life is tempting me.

M3 Air sadly won't be available in this color. It's reserved for the Pro models. Depends on what you need, Air's are very light and portable. Pros are heavier but more powerful. If you're not a power user -- get the M3 Air when it launches sometime next year

Fantastic video! I had a moment of concern when the video displayed 4 hours of battery life, but heard you say 12 hours of battery life😅 For anyone that this also concerned, the Macbook M3 Pro/Max are listed as having 12 hours of wireless web!

I literally ordered a M2 Max 14 inch with upgraded ram at the beginning of October and it arrived literally 2 days after the event. I still have a couple of days to get a refund and order the m3 Mac version of this computer. idk if I should since I would probably get the silver after 4 years of space grey and now I can't get the lower end configuration of the m3 max without limiting the ram to 36 gb or jumping up to 96 which I don't need. I would like 64 like my M2 Max has. Any advice (also side note I bought the computer back home and traveled with it to school as im in a different country than home I don't know. how that would effect the return and purchasing another one) If you read all that please reply with a suggestion I would appreciate it

Was using the 16" on the couch. I can't imagine 8 hours on the couch would be good for your back, I only feel its weight when I have to lift it with one hand. Or move it from place to place. Otherwise on the lap it isn't so back.

I just purchased an M2 Pro, and it’s freezing; the battery health is already down 2%, and it’s slow, in my opinion. It also gets really hot. Is 2% of battery health dropping in 6 weeks normal? I’m still in my return period, and BestBuy has the m3 line up $100 less for members. I can’t find a M2 pro so I can exchange the computer. I got an M2 pro on sale for $1750, and I Can get the M3 for $1899.

I don't know why the heck they are selling a MacBook with the pro moniker when there's nothing pro about it. The regular M3 with just 8GB of RAM is not a pro machine. It's a MacBook Air in a different case. No one should ever buy that thing.

Hi im a streamer! I stream and usually play games, however im looking for a portable mac 120hz and good ram, gpu cpu, Should I get the 14inch macbook pro 11core CPU and 14 core GPU, or should I max out for the m3 max, Although I dont want to spend too much, only about £2300 maximum. £2300 should get me 12core CPU 18core GPU. I dont have any apple silicon, only a macbook intel pro from 2016.

I'm an avid Applehead so I enjoy the higher end model so when Apple announced the new MacBook Pro series, I knew I had to upgrade for the latest M3 pro chip along with the new space black finish. Apple is so confusing. M3 is only available on the “Pro” MacBooks, but not MacBook airs. Ok, fine - but it’s also available on the iMac which is very non-pro. The Mac Studio - which very much is “pro” does not get updated - even though the M3 Max steps all over the toes of M2 Ultra. Where’s the consistency? Which is it, Apple - is the M3 a pro chip or not?

This true though, for everyday user that just browse the net, do a short photo and video editing the older MBA and even MBP will still be good and cheaper too. Also, I believe that Apple didnt announced the M3 MBA this year because they want to separate them from the pro's like the iphone by having a year older SOC. The new 13" air might be announced along side the 15" next year with M3 while a few months after the M4 MBP will be announced.
