I hope this leads to a true 3rd installment! It's clear the team handled this with love, even though it's on a smaller scale. I think we all miss Apollo Smile, but they did look for her and couldn't find her to come in and reprise the role. Cherami has the right energy to play Ulala, and I think with a bit more studying of how she was voiced in the first 2 games she could pull off a fresh, updated version of the Ulala we know.

I am a hardcore space channel 5 fan and I have to say that this wasnt what I wanted BUT I am super grateful and happy with what I got! I am so glad to see they brought back the game. No it does not feel the same as the previous games but I'm hoping for this to bring new fans attention and create something even better in the future. 💕

Completley honest this playthrough was fantastic. I can't find too many people willing to get into something as obscure as Space Channel 5 and it made me really happy to see you dancing and nodding as you played. It's great you enjoyed this game and I am so happy there's a VR title.

Her new voice reminds me of Barbie for some reason haha. They do need to bring back Space Channel 5 though. Hopefully this was just a test run.

This game really gives a vibe like its something you would find in an arcade machine. I think its the colors and sound design.

Wish it was a full experience. There were substages like in the original, or unique situations like different instruments or set pieces like the plant boss in part 2. I think it's a fun side thing but I'm glad they're not calling this part 3

On the one hand, I love that they're finally bringing back Space Channel 5. On the other, this game feels like a sort of ultra-safe testing-the-waters sort of deal with its incredibly short length and how it borrows the first half of Part 1 for every level except the last when it tries to completely retread the last level of Part 2. I'm also worried that since it's VR and PS5 exclusive, it will only reach a very small audience since Space Channel 5 was already niche to begin with and Sega will look at the sales numbers and decide most people don't want more Space Channel 5. But hey, if they manage to sell well and make a real Part 3, I really hope they get Apollo Smile back as Ulala. The new actress does a great job but it's not the same without the original. Hell, I'd absolutely settle for an HD remake for modern systems and PC, they never did come out with Part 1 on PC.

Oh man, the final report is just Purge's segments lifted from the 2nd game. That wouldve been fine if it weren't for the bad lyrics that doesnt rhymes at all. Still, this is hopeful we can get a part 3 I do appreciate the roleplay and getting into the groove of the game. Makes this video so much fun to watch👍

Weird thing I noticed, in all the space channel 5 games in your interactions with jaguar/the rhythm rogues, they always repeat the same move sequence, in this game it was pose Chu Chu, right left down, down down down, in other games the pose was some other move I forget

It's nice to see this in HD, but I gotta say the voices, design differences and that sorta stuff just ruin this for me. The new voice actor for Ulala just doesn't fit right and she says space cats in spaceport, she doesn't say cosmic kitties until shes in luxury spacecraft G. I know its kinda petty and of course they're trying, but it just makes it feel really off for me.

This is a Space Channel 5 game and yet here you are firing ki blasts like it's Dragon Ball Z.

Sega might be the gredediest company and take the most stupidest decisions for their developers and their games marketing, but i feel touched by the fact that they recognized the anniversary of this mostly unknown franchise.

This is one of the two games that made me want a PS4 so badly. (In case you were wondering, the other one is Love Live! School Idol Festival After School Activity - Wai-Wai Home Meeting, which is a PS4 exclusive.)

I really wish we had just gotten part 3 tbh, 'cause here it's like everyone got amnesia/the past two games didn't happen at all? why are the space pirates still feuding with channel 5? why were non-brainwashed morolians attacking in the first report? and where's Hoorg? Like, I suppose on it's own this game is fine, and I'm happy we got a new installment to the series at all, but it just doesn't FEEL like space channel 5, y'know? I appreciate when a game tries to set itself apart from it's predecessors, but the new music, new characters, and voice acting are all just /too/ separate, as if they were designed for a different series altogether... and the whole VR thing makes things too confusing, but perhaps that's just me. Things are happening outside of the player's line of sight, it's never clear who's talking (seriously who's voice even is that at 19:15?), and just trying to watch a playthrough like this makes me dizzy. I much preferred the hammy, goofy, cinematic style of the first two games, and that's not just nostalgia speaking because I've only recently gotten into SC5

what I dislike about this VR game is that Ulala is a separate character. a VR game should have the player play as the protagonist in first person. And they could use visible mirrors in the enviornment so the player can see theirself as Ulala, being able to see their arms and body from Ulala's perspective. now that would have been epic. the player plays as Ulala in the other games though limited to 3rd person perspective. it really is not cool playing as someone else that teams up with Ulala, and its weak not having character creation if they are gonna resort to some 'team up with protagonist' angel. if this VR game was about some other series, you can be sure most of them would have the protagonist be the player character they play as from their perspective. Also a game doesn't need VR to play in first person. this game should have supported regular controller and standard console gaming for those that wanna play that way, with options to play either in first person from Ulala's perspective, or 3rd person. I'm not sure how much this game sold, but Sega should support Space Channel 5 franchise and aim higher with its game design. It is upsetting that VR tech is STILL really misused, not used to its potential, and directed by people that really waste a game's greater potential with such a narrow minded and restricting concept of game design. to this say, VR games are still designed like a cheap gimmick. also they would make more money if their VR games are flexible and playable with normal controls and usable without VR devices, while still featuring VR features. segregating VR gaming as its own island, is really limiting their consumerbase and profits.

Well, this game was pretty dissapointing, but at least it got recognition, thank god. Also ulala's voice is horrible in this one, they didn't even try to make the different sound clips sound "natural" with a normal flow. :/
