Don't worry about it your English is wwwaaaaaaayyy better than my Danish. Your English video was perfectly understandable. Great video, and I am going to check out your design for use in my survival.
Your english is actually rather good. I wouldn't worry about it so much. There's a few words that you have trouble remembering, but other than that, it's quite good.
Hey! You're very good at English, and you don't seem to hesitate with words any more than an English-speaking RU-vidr usually would. Also, I like the video and the design.
Your English is just fine, quite easy to understand. Your ship is an interesting concept, I'd like to see more miners that look this way. Keep up the interesting videos sir!
Your English is very good, and I enjoyed the video. I've yet to see a mining ship look like that its very cool. I dropped a like and subbed, hoping for more content if you have time.
An interesting design. Hopefully once SE is fully optimized then dumping ore while drilling won't be an issue. While this generates more waste ore than plunge mining (simply making a hole to the ore you want), it's MUCH more efficient at getting ALL the ore. Also great for making partially underground bases.
Don't apologize for your English, its better than many native speakers i know. LOL Anyway, this gives me an idea to build a massive planet harvester ship in my world.
Great video. The angle thing is the horizon indicator. I wonder if it'd be more fuel efficient to use a large wheeled transport to carry your big miner around to the various ore deposits. Just a center beam with landing gear facing up, six ore so wheels and some solar panels for power. And a remote control and antenna so you don't even have to have a cockpit on it.
good ship. i would, if you want to loose ice and stone if not wanted out of the cargo for less mass of the ship in general (uses less power then) - you can add droppers to the ship and some sorters, and you can drop all the Stone if needed. And if you dont want to steer all the time, you can use the g menu, to add autothrust override to the thrusters forward. therefore your ship will mine "alone".
I don't know why, but I never expect people who don't have English as their primary language talking like it's their first (swearing and stuff). It was quite a pleasant surprise.
Strip mining :) 6:22 Mass is in kilos, volume usually, in cargo container case is in liters. Hint: if you have too many drills that grind your machine to a halt, you can space them out. The drills don't have to be so close to each other, instead of having 9 drills packed each row, you can keep the same width and do the job with 7. You can drop two thirds of your drills for a horizontal, rotary drill head - but that's probably much slower .
Tho I agree, what your doing is true, mining the earth like the real earth is the most efficent way to gather ores (sorry if I spelt that wrong) but some players are trying to dig under without destroying the land over top. Some try to preserve the planets appearence as best they could. (its a engeneering challenge you can say, to mine without destroying the land). I don't think its impossible, just difficult as a vehicle can't simply curve (tho some have contructed working worms lol). Side note some servers and computers can't take miners with over 5 mining drills or so (due to lag from moving objects sadly) I seen servers who put rules limiting mining machines to 5 drills heads. But perhaps you can make a mini version of that big miner, one for lighter computers that can handle it better, or for servers like I mentioned.
Hey, man. Thank you for the informative video.Keep up the good work. I understood everything you said. Your English is actually better than some of the people in America. lol Much love from America :)
good design. I am looking for new ideas on developing ground vehicles for mining. This just gave me a good idea looking at what you have there. Thanks for the video.
Just so you know Mister Hoppe, I speak perfect English and I could understand everything you were saying, despite the thick accent. I think you do well at speaking english. Keep up the good work!
Effective design, but a few questions and suggestions; from what i could see it doesn't look like it makes use of batteries? i didn't see any and from what i can see from the video you've got a heavy armor frame on the craft, have you considered a design with a light armor frame and using wheels mounted onto the armor to absorb impacts? making the frame lighter should increase your fuel efficiency and using a array of batteries powered by a small reactor would do your fuel usage wonders too, downside though is you've got a fairly short flight time before you have go back to dock and let it recharge, but as fast as that thing harvests ore i don't think you'd have to worry about running out of power before you'd be back at base unloading the ore and finally, switching the refinery upgrades to all effectiveness modules on atleast one of the refineries will like double your uranium output ( will take longer to refine though )
I'm always amazed at how most non-native English speakers often speak better English than us who's first language it is. Also, this plays into the general ignorance most native English speakers have when we say "everyone speaks it anywhere so why should I bother learning something else" lol. It's kind of true though. I came up with something kind of similar to this when I wanted to flatten out an area to build on.
+Bot Geoff That's because people from other countries are taught English they don't learn from the people around them. They also don't learn the variations that Americans have from the south to the north or any other part of the country. Nor do they taught slang terms.
thank you for taking the time to make this in english, if you were to continue make videos in english i would greatly enjoy watching them. :) P.S. Your english is actually very good you only miss minor subtleties but it is quite easy to understand you.
Good design, but I won't call it best way to mine on planets. I personally don't like marring the landscape. I build a small platform normally big enough for 2 large cargo, a small reactor, and enough space for a cargo vehicle to dock. Then run conveyors out of the top of one container to a desired height, then at least 4 blocks away from the platform over the mining. then have a piston or two going down, then a adv rotor, then a drill on the rotor. On two sides of the first drill put 3-5 drill each. Pistons and the rotor have to be set really slow. This method gives you a perfectly straight hole aligned with gravity that you can then reconfigure the drill head to scrap the walls or if you made a big enough hole fly a small grid ship into to selectively mine only ore and minimal stone. This method is also good for making underground bases after a mine shaft has been emptied or just become a dwarf and live in the mine like one of my friends did.
Finally a design to mine on planets that can actually be viable! How has anyone not figured this out yet? Although it would be hard to set it up in the early game, a smaller version could work good, could you maybe put the smaller design on the Steam Workshop?
Your english is perfectly fine it does have your accent which makes sense and since its not your first language then i dont see anything wrong with it even if it wasnt perfect
You could add more drills pointing horizontally from the front, so then you could drill down deeper on each pass. Like the design, it's a first time seeing on like that and I think i'm going to play around with that design next time I play Space Engineers.. Interesting method when you don't just make a hole.
It is still english. It is just a dialect. There are many regional dialects within the US as influences from other languages and cultures have been incorporated into it. For example Louisiana. There is a strong French influence in the bayou regions and the language spoken is more a patois. Same with spanish in its various regional dialects around the world.
Beautiful ship Phillip. Don't worry about your English is better than mine. Imagine you were to make a video in Portuguese. hahaha Success in the channel, just sign up. cya
your english is awsome like your ship but i would really like a strip miner that works the same way as one would in real life, would need wheels for that i have yet to find one as good. maybe if space engineers gives us dynamite
If you all have problem with your inventory full of stone, just select the drills from "Weapon" category in "G" menu and press the right mouse button and they will drill giant holes without collecting stone...
Cool ship. Why aren't the red forces attacking you? I have the same map set on the safest settings in survival and I'm constantly being attacked by gunship drones. -.-
You can program the ship to just grop the stone when it reach some level into the store space, so you can mine without having all the stone on the floor and isn't your ship using too much reactors? I was checking the energy stats and you use only the 8%-13% of the output, maybe you can create a smaller ship that uses less energy and more usefull.
Wait.. Is this field reall pure iron ore? I recently started and I thought resources are very scarce on planets, but this looks pretty cool! Also I like the construction of the ship though I d rather try out a wheel based vehicle, as flying heavy mass around is extremly energy consuming. Only thing I want to point out about the construction is, that you added solar panels. I did not do the math but I am pretty sure that this is not enery efficient, because: more mass = more uplifting = higher passive energy consumption
