Those crystals are used to upgrade your staff like the vault and the structures which will make staff faster and as for the vault it gives it more space for more items, there are also other crystals which are called prism crystals and you get them from the cave and the portal you saw in the middle of space island and throughout all of the islands, when a monster is in the prism gate it changes it form and gives it more of a prismatic look, a nice way to decorate your island

Just to let you know, if you don’t have the food for a certain monster, use the “feed” button, where you can give the monster whatever food you have. It should show up when you click on the monster. No need to use diamonds!

Just a heads up, the cloud island is honestly pretty good, but the volume distribution between the monsters are HORRIFIC, i suggest putting shellbeat at least 25% volume since it overpowers every other monster. And even then you can't hear some of them in the song, like tiawa and tweedle.
