Summer started with a blast on Saturday, June 22, at a Space Launch Party celebrating the opening of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library’s Earth from Space exhibit and the Summer Reading Challenge program. Attendees of all ages participated in many space-related activities, including a planetarium. This life-size cardboard planetarium was created by library volunteer Dan Raker, Summer Volunteer Squad teens and staff.
The library’s Summer Volunteer Squad will be leading a program with the planetarium on Wednesday, July 24, from 1-3 p.m., with space-themed experiments and hands-on activities for children in grades K-3. Drop in.
The planetarium will be coming back to the library in July. Stop by the library's Hendrickson Room and check out our planetarium:
Wednesday, July 24: 4-6 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Thursday, July 25, 10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
