Commenting after watching the whole video, I'm a student of Astronomy & Astrophysics here at IST Islamabad (yes, I'm from Pakistan) now doing my thesis in studying the gamma-ray bursts. What you said is perfectly true, all these technologies that we use today are/have been a derived product of space race. Although this comment will not make any difference in anyone's life yet still want to point out to another commercial perspective of having a capable space agency in the country (SUPARCO is doing just okay, I know because I have friends working there). The first thing that you also mentioned is having a launch platform that will make other less developed countries tend to us (because we definitely and hopefully -- if we make one -- will offer lower price at the beginning since we're just starting) and thus our economy will flourish. I'm not a keen twitter or social guy so I don't know what's happening on twitter war but that aside, there are tremendous amounts of job opportunities in this field or this field can deploy. I'll give a little example here Let's say we have competent personnel and they decide to build a satellite (like Hubble) to gather images of cosmos albeit in visible light. What can they need? They'll need people from almost every field, mechanical, electrical (for obvious reasons) civil engineers, site planners, architects and construction engineers (for searching a suitable site for the control center and of course building it) they'll also need people from photography/physics section (for light collection details in the satellite), navigation and aeronautics experts (for setting the satellite in correct allotted slots and keeping it there) physicists, mathematicians, programmers, statisticians, database managers (for developing prototypes, simulation data, keeping track of it and also to develop a pipeline that will help the scientists derive useful information from the data that the satellite will send). These are just a few off of my head and the possibilities are endless. Of course, you cannot make a satellite fully functional in a year or so it takes time and while it is being built they all can benefit from it. And I'm here ONLY talking about a satellite that'll take cosmic images, satellite engineering in itself is a humongous field in which there are Comm satellites, GIS/RS satellites, Astro satellites, GPS satellites, space shuttles, and whatnot. So the advantages of pushing our country into space race are infinite, BUT it can only be done if there's someone capable sitting on the top of all this who is (1) enthusiast (2) knowledgeable and knows how to get stuff done. I've been an avid Australia fan for different reasons in this field (most important being Australia is in southern hemisphere) but I don't feel like settling there with my job if I ever had a chance to visit there, sure it'll take time because I do need job and experience in the field, practically and academically. I feel like it is my duty to take what they have to offer and bring it to my own country, to flourish this field here so that in the next decade or so people will look up to my country and say the same thing I say about Australia today. Maybe I won't be the one to establish it, why not pass the torch to someone else. If we won't even try, then what's the point. The government doesn't encourage/support, true that but we (or I, in this specific case) have to give our own try to our country, it works or not is something else.

Just a few fun facts about the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). - ISRO launched 104 satellite on a single rocket. Out 104 only 3 satellite was Indian. Rest were from foreign clients. - ISRO is the only space organization/company in the world to which have launched the mars mission in the first attempt. - Indian Mars mission had a budget of $74m - ISRO annual budget $ 1.45 Billion whereas NASA annual budget is $ 21.5 Billion I want to add more facts but its okay the people at ISRO have worked hard you can google for pictures they use to carry parts of the satellite and rockets on cycle and bullock cart. These are really passionate and hard-working people. Failure is just a stepping stone. they missed by 2.1km we hope they will reach there next time. Junaid Brother also mentioned about deploying defense satellite. that's the reason I am mentioning this. during the kargil war between india and pakistan. India was denied help from the USA for the use of GPS satellite to detect the location of the opponent. 3 out of 9 GPS satellites have already launched and they are working on rest in the coming year India will have its own independent GPS satellites. I really feel we should learn to understand peace and how we can stay neighbors peacefully. India always wanted to be independent and progress and make a great impact on the world. 1st of all India succeeded in reaching mars atmosphere through mangalyaan. Chandrayan 2 is India's second mission to moon, before we have succeeded making satelight to moon almost 12 year ago.

India successfully completed 95% of chandrayan 2 mission. Not only this we have many more achievements like india became the first country to enter mars' orbit in the first attempt,chandrayan 1 discovered water on the moon,we launched 101 satellites in one go and had set a world record. So stop saying that india failed the mission.

Hey Junaid, This is April of 2023. I have an update: 99% of all our households today have proper sanitation facilities. We feed 600 million today at a very minimal price or even free of cost. So people of Pakistan should understand that they have 2 less reasons to crib about India's Space Program.

It was our 2nd attempt and our 1st was successful, this time we tried to land on south pole of moon which was never done by any country in the world. The presence of water in moon surface was found by indian chandrayan 1 mission which was extremely successful. So please Pakistan don't mock at us. This time we fail next time we will pass.
India's Chandrayan 1 mission was successfull and was 1st one to find water on moon. India is the only country to reach Mars in 1st attempt. Its budget was less than Martian movie of Hollywood. We Indians directly compete with NASA in Space. Chandrayan 2 aim was to land on Dark side of moon on its south pole. India would be 1st country if it did this landing on dark side of moon. But failed by just 2 kms. in landing. Never mind, next atteMpt we Indians we do it.

What a pure thought this person has.... Sidhi baat no bakwaas. Most of the Indians like me who watched this video learned a lot specially the inventions that happened for astronauts and then used in our daily life.
Trollers, irrespective of their nationalities are mostly people who have no clue about the subject. They made fun of PSLV when the launch failed. The very same PSLV later went on to put record number of satellites in orbit, took India to moon with Chandryaan 1 which later discovered water there. These trolls were nowhere to be seen then. Now, they came back to the business, but it's not a problem. Because that's the zenith of their life, striving on others failure. Sooner or later, we will be there. Before commenting on the finance, they don't even know the enormous advantages of such explorations. India has one of the most advanced remote sensing sats up there, and we are totally self-reliant for weather forecast, disaster management, floods, climate study etc and the list is endless. This is not just for India, but the data is shared by entire sub continent. But the most important thing for me is, this inspires millions of kids here to opt for science and tech. Not just India, there might be some kid in Pakistan, who gets inspired by this, "if Indians can, then why can't we". Think about the endless possibilities for future with this pool of scientists. Reaching orbit used to be our vision. We failed a few times but later we perfected it. Now landing on moon is our vision, damn sure we will succeed. While these troll will keep waiting for next mistake, we will be reaching stars. Dream big! Jai hind.
