Nope, that's a myth. Warcraft was originally just its own game that took some visual influence from Warhammer. Blizzard did approach GW once about getting the Warhammer license, but they never even claim close to reaching a deal.
I think neuros being absolute bastards are on point lore and gameplay wise, and that a psyker class being built to support team by disrupting 'thropes/psykers or limiting status effects and staggers would be cooler and more effective then a straight damage. Vulkite weapons are non-laser thermal beam weapons, how that works no idea but ive always imagined it as a liquid beam like Mass Effect beam guns or space science direct heat transfer beam bullshit.
In all ive read and played(tabletop, deathwing and inquisitor) neuros and 'nid psykers are just absolute bastards to fight always unless you have a dedicated "kill that bastard" strategy in place.
For now this game to me seems too much bullet spongy with a ammo poverty simulator. Shit multiple hit with a multy melta to kill a warrior seems stupid for me.
