2 things I noticed playing the campaign on highest difficulty: -Damage from weapons generally feels too low, both melee and primary alike(the heavy bolt pistol legit feels stronger than most of the primary guns) -They need to bring back getting hp from melee executions like in the first game

I think there strong need of hp regen too. Because in this game it will make sense unlike cod and other shooters. Space marines are freaking geno modified superhumans, their physiology can tank heavy punishment and heal all but the severe wounds, also their power armor have diagnostic and medical systems that can assist in healing by injecting proper chemicals. It’s make no sense how you always low on health and desperately looking for first aid kits

the problem is there is stimpack but they are rare then there the stolen health mechanism which nobody know how it's work, in multiplayer i can give back health to my fellow marine if i place my banner on the ground then they have to execute something

@@Get5ome in the first game instead of first aid kits you would gain hp back every time you melee finished an enemy. I personally think it was a way more fun way of balancing the combat rather than having medkits(which barely do anything on max difficutly) it makes running through some sections of the game extremely tedious. On top of all that the guns feel extremely weak in 99% of fights even with headshots

Yeah, the bloodborne healing doesn't work, because in bloodborne you also get a lot of healing anyways, meanwhile here the game gives you stimpacks like it cost the company actual money each time you use one. I get the intent (be aggresive to keep the health up), but because you can get staggered very easily (so, you lose the window of opportunity to heal), and there is not even a sliver of health gain on execution. It means that in practice, you are not gonna be as aggresive as the game wants you to be. Poorly designed imo, I think they may be able to do a patchwork if they "nerf" the bloodborne healing (or not, I am just spitballing), and add a small health regen on execution. And don't get me started with ranged weapons.... a MULTI-MELTA needing multiple shots for a basic Warrior. KEK, lmao even. A weapon that turns TANK ARMOR into LIQUID state, needs 3+ shots for a warrior, who tf thought this was good? To be fair, I enjoyed the game, and I wish a sequel to continue the campaign story, but the studio needs to go back to the drawing board and realize the BIG mistakes they did, why they did them, and how to fix them.

The Helldivers crowd is unfortunately suffering from people telling them this game will be a "helldivers killer" despite not at all being the same kind of game. That being said, I absolutely love this game.

​@@edsalmon6319The tabletop and the lore have never really lined up (not just for space marines, for pretty much all of the factions). And to be fair, the way most of the lore is described would essentially be impossible to replicate on tabletop. Space marine units numbering in the dozens to hundreds are routinely described as being able to turn the tide or outright win against forces well into the thousands. They certainly aren't unkillable, but they are the elite of the elite and are not at all like a 'regular' military. There's pretty much nothing about a space marine chapter that is synonymous with "poverty."

@@tcuegonbear Having been in the hobby since 4th edition, it's complicated. They're not a 'regular' military, they're in many ways worse. Fanatical to the point recklessness, blinded by ideology and logistically wasteful, they're hard carried by their superhuman abilities and top shelf equipment. They're unable to manufacture most of their best gear, meaning if it's lost it's gone forever, which I'd say is precisely synonymous with "poverty," alongside them living monastic lifestyles that amount to literal poverty. That's kind of the point of the setting, no-one has enough, not even the angels of death. Not that that's a problem, mind you; everything being scuffed as hell was part of the charm of 40k. The fact that GW's been moving away from that has been a real sore point with a lot of fans. In the old days, you were meant to take the space marine hype with a grain of salt, as most of it was intended to represent in-universe propaganda. They were the best the Imperium had, but they weren't enough. As time went on, Games Workshop decided to start huffing their own supply and what was once ironic/tongue in cheek became just the face value truth. And I could write an essay on what's wrong with that, but this comment is already too long and I'd probably just end up ranting about the stupid Primaris double marines and the Noblebright Ultramarines becoming the setting protagonists until I had a brain aneurysm.

I think the reason why the astronomical glizzy glazing is mainly cause, 40k fans, such as myself, are starved for games and good media content. So when something comes around like this, it’s a massive massive thing. Ppl will come to their senses soon though.

@@jfkst1The problem is that Games Workshop itself has been getting influenced by DEI though, the Femstodes being forced into canon are a big example of this. It’s little surprise they did this during the release time of SM2 because now a potential new generation of fans will join the franchise, all unaware of the lore changes going on that didn’t sit well with the original fan base, all in the hopes to recoup losses from OG fans protesting. This isn’t helped by GW’s overpriced plastic figures, their war on fan projects to bully the rest into joining GW’s failing streaming service, and the gaslighting they did to force fans to accept the new Femstodes.

​@@keefert0n there's no problem with retcons in of itself but it would of been appreciated from writers standpoint if they had some in universe event explaining the newly added female custodes. Would of been a hell of a lot better way to do it than GW gaslighting fans and telling them they always existed. They could've been more creative with it instead of the lazy option they picked.

The people saying that you need to grind to max level on a class for it to feel good are crazy man. That's like saying that a terrible TV show gets good after 2 seasons. I'm not wasting my time watching 2 seasons of a trash TV show for it to maybe get good later on, I'm just gonna go do something I can actually enjoy from the get go.

@@aersla1731 yea it’s extremely slow till you get to maybe the end of alabasta and even then it takes forever for something big to happen after that so honestly if you are gonna watch it look up what episodes are actually important because I cannot recommend it to people that don’t have the time nor the patience to watch 5-20 episodes per arc of just setting something up then taking another 10-30 episodes to actually have the set up pay off

I understand OP features to be bound by levels, like an insta kill, a CC immune mode, AoE healing, Insta revives, but baseline ammo and survivability being bound by levels is weird. I see folks going infinite healing per melee kill Bulwarks or Infinite Weapon Specific Ammo Heavy builds and its all locked to being maxed out first, difficult. Imagine if you had to reach max level 50 in helldivers 2 to have access to Eagles, Orbitals and explosive Support Weapons... what fun is there to have between levels 1 and 49? how many would would give up before reaching lvl 50?

Very true and combine that with the fact that you make zero progress on coop while playing the entire campaign then add to that you have to start from level 1 each time you try a different class that you haven't been trying to farm out like it's a job.

It's almost as if thr lower difficulties exist to level your classes up first before you can tackle end gsme content. It's like if you just started destiny and immediately did the current endgame raid, and wondering why you're not dealing damage to the boss.

The thing a lot of people will miss about OhDough's perspective is that he insists on discussing the specifics of the game. People are happy with their overall impression of the game, so they just throw all analysis out of the window regarding specific elements of the design. They refuse to look at ways to improve the game, as it requires admitting it isn't perfect. His argument isn't that the game is bad, but that there are flaws that concern him based on real experience, and not enough people looking at it from an objective standpoint to help improve it. If they start developing content while maintaining this framework, they'll never be able to change the problems present.

Not really true though he is generalizing the entire youtuber sphere because he thinks he is always right. Also anyone who played the game can see that he hasnt touched anything above minimal difficulty as he complains about lack of funds, not that much to do, heavy being the best class etc. which is all just wrong ^^ I agree about Operations (which gets touched on a lot by other youtubers even positive ones), weapon balance (same thing), some perks being shit and most importantly that ranged enemies are to strong.

That's the problem with difficulty modes that just increase hp / damage as you go up: shit becomes really immersion breaking really fast. Say what you will about Helldivers in its current state, but a Hulk for instance at rank 5 is the same at rank 10: the only difference is there's just a fuckton more of them.

DRG does something similar, enemies have the same HP throughout the difficulty levels, but instead they gain damage resistance. But it's far less atrocious than the current games.

I think thwyd have gone that route but I think bigger hordes would probably melt systems. Darktide floods you with enemies and ups their damage but not their hp. I'd rather they lower high diff hp and the dmg a bit and increase the horde amounts

Agreed. Given how many enemies the game can handle at once, they really didn't need to go this route. Alternatively they could've done the scaling a little softer like with Fatshark games.

Attempting to avoid spoilers for folks, but here are my criticisms of the game (as a player who is playing solo, this includes the Operations mode). The issue with Operations (and to some degree single-player) is that the higher up in difficulty you go the more glaring the problems of the game's systems become. The game actually feels better when you're keeping enemies at range and playing more tactically (which makes sense to a degree). Even at Veteran (Angel of Death being the highest) in Operations, enemy Majoris/Extremis health pools are far too large to the point where they become bullet sponges capable of overwhelming players with numbers that can't be culled faster than they call in reinforcements or spawn on "wave" events. Majoris enemies all spamming attacks at different timings and there not being "safe" animations other than executions results in being stun-locked. The chip damage received from lesser enemies is too great for how few tools there are to effectively engage with hordes of enemies. Dodging groups of enemies is a trap; it's not engaging the enemy, it's delaying the inevitable. Extremis/Terminus enemies with heavy ranged attacks have the ability to stun-lock you to death fairly quickly -- as dodging isn't always effective. Staggering Majoris/Extremis enemies is next to impossible unless the game allows it; particularly if they're already in an attack animation (not talking about boss enemies that you expect this).

Honestly, I'm glad this game did an early access period because it let everyone make a more informed purchase. I went from really hyped for the game to "I'll wait until it gets a few patches and more content" as I watched more and more content.

Yeah this is pretty much what I've seen from paying attention to the reviews. The game looks and plays amazing but the balance needs some serious work and the content is lacking. I'll check into it again after Christmas when they've given it some love.

Yeah idk why they went so in on the multiplayer, most people played the last one for the campaign, nothing wrong with fleshing out abit of multiplayer but they should have doubled the campaign length. Also they shouldnt have had 3 classes it should have just been the 3 armour types, gravis(heavy), taciticus(med) and phobos, then just restrict weapons to each armour type.

An artficer lasful 3 shotting medium enemies to the head on substantial diff is pretty disappointing. They shouldnt be making enemies tanker, there should just be more of them and their attack windows shorter

@@DarthAscension stand still does not work in waves. Even less do for chaos marines. Waves of nids come from outside the map and purposefully surround you while chaos literally teleports guys on you forcing you to darksouls roll towards Friendly's. Pop cloak and still die cause you can't kill them fast enough, or pop cloak and let them ago onto friendlies

@@imperialscout5566 errr what skill tree are you working with? Last core skill point makes it so your class ability and your allies class ability recharges for every headshot (kill minions) and every headshot on the next skill tree recharges cloak by 5% meaning you should have on cloak every 20 seconds, faster if you have any allies that synergies with you. So in the event you don’t have adds or anything but a boss you should not be the number one target let someone else take the heat and charge that sniper. If adds are around enjoy that infinite ammo multi kill or bolt pistol headshot that fills everyone’s ability meter leading to amazing synergy with tactical, vanguard, heavy, and bulwark.

The community is letting frantic s___ the bed and then when I say its disgustingly bad, they say "but its warm in these poopy sheets". -Melee hits like a wet noodle -melee swings cant be interuppted like in sm1 -melee isnt worth getting into at all except for quick time events -you are dodge roll spamming scouring for ammo on any setting above normal -enemies can jump/shoot through walls -enemies tank way more damage and deal out insane amounts to you -heavy is the only viable class and dont even get me started on pvp...

As a hard core fan of this game and the entire 40k franchise. I agree with this vid. I played 40 plus hrs over and over just to min max my class and reach max difficulty in operations. My entire experience was just bored most of the time. Edit: No this is not a Helldivers 2 killer.

You can also just straight up get kicked from a squad before the end of a mission so you earn absolutely nothing. The game has no way of reporting people that do this, an absolutely massive oversight for a multiplayer game. Had it happen to me today, I joined as heavy, parried and killed a licter, then was kicked instantly.

As someone who's played quite a lot of WWZ. I feel like even that has more replayability than this game. I honestly have no idea how many times I've played through Japan and Jerusalem campaigns. But I seriously love those missions. Hell the Jerusalem campaign alone feels like it's got more content than all of the Operations combined.

Never played WWZ, but it looks pretty cool. Would you say it's kinda like L4D in that you can replay the linear acts as opposed to a more procedurally generated map with same missions like DRG and HD2? And is it worth getting the deluxe edition or any of the DLC?

@@snoweh1 Honestly, World War Z is the closest thing I have played to feeling similar to Left 4 Dead. The maps are linear, and there are a bunch of campaigns. I do recommend it if you are looking for a fun Horde Shooter. The only real big negative I can give it is that the progression system is VERY grindy.

@@snoweh1 I can confirm what the other guy said. WWZ is very similar to L4D with an AI director, linear missions, and it has an RPG system that SM2 took directly from. It is grindy, which can be positive or negative depending on who you ask. But I had a lot of fun playing it for several years. As for the Deluxe or DLC's, I can't say. I had my copy given to me by Saber because I was a content creator (different account) back then. And it came with everything at the base, and all future DLC's.

There is no choice in this game😂 you get gimped weapons, anemic skill trees, and you also can’t play the same class as your friends, so if you ever wanted to make a team of Tactical marines, you’re SOL. Tack on that, only 6 missions that you will repeat ad nauseam. This game will be complete maybe a year or two down the road.

Honestly as soon as I saw this was a souls-like, I was like 'yeah that's a refund'. I bought this game to shoot big guns and whack bugs, not parry and fatroll as a tank. When people are really glad about receiving something they don't want to complain and maybe discourage others from giving them the same. 40k fans have wanted this game for so long they don't really care about alot of the details people outside of the community do. As someone that is having a grand time with this game, i was trying to figure out why i wasn't a big fan of this video while agreeing with some of the points being made. I think it boils down to the general feeling of the critique. This video makes it sound like the game is not even worth your time and the topic of refunds is brought up. This game has a sea of positives and a pond of negatives. While yes the pond should not be ignored, to treat it as if its overwhelming is a bit ridiculous. Especially when most game have the analogy the other way around.

I you confused "personal preferences" with problems. There's no bosses in L4D2, it's repetitive, and no interesting unlocks. And let's lay all the cards down. No Warhammer fan was there at Helldivers 2's release, exclaiming. "Wow, this game has problems, I can't believe people like this game." Tanks are the boss in L4D2 and repetitive has a negative connotation. Sure you're running the same campaigns, but it never feels "repetitive". L4D2's lack of repetitiveness is why it's been around for 15 years. Doubt SM 2 will get anywhere close with its issues.

I swear. Games made by non gamers was a mistake. They always lack the insight and memory to learn from the past so we get the same problems on repeat for decades. Planetside “solved” key rebinds screens. HoMM dark messiah “solved” melee combat in sword n sorcery games. Games like helldivers showed how to make difficult settings without simple stat upgrades (then anti-fun-league undid most of that good design). The lessons are out there, these games have ZERO excuse for such basic errors.

I was playing the campaign for the first time today and what I noticed is that if you are trying to be in the back sniping or laying down suppressing fire, the enemies will gun for you even if you have done nothing. They will run by my other teammates and just jump at me. It makes sense for maybe the chaos space marines because they are smart but when I have hormigaunts weenies just ignore the big enemy in front of them to attack me miles away, it is just really annoying.

My Negatives are: - Most Perks useless - Melta OP or bugged I don't know either - Progression a bit too slow - Enemies too bullet spongy - EAC and EOS stuff - No private lobbies Funnily enough every weapon is viable at the highest level, getting them to that level is just pure CBT in most cases. You cannot take a 1 Damage weapon into a diff 4 mission, you'd need 120 head shots for a normal Majoris level enemy, so you have to grind the boring missions first. Making enemies less spongy and changing some perks would go a LONG way! I'd love to see even more enemies once they are less spongy just 15% less HP would be nice. They can keep the Melta bugged imo, the Tactical and Vanguard have one too ;) At least every gun in this game can kill everything, even the melees.

My main issue with the game is that you don't recover health when you execute enemies like in the first game. The ammo isn't really an issue on anything but the highest difficulty unless you're just spraying and praying constantly and not switching guns to balance your reserves. Headshots matter in terms of ammo efficiency. I've never run out of ammo on any class that wasn't the Heavy. IMO, on executions, you should recover 30% of your HP on Easy, 25% on Normal, 20% on Veteran, and 15% on the hardest difficulty in addition to the current system of adding one bar of armor. It would go a long way to making your Space Marine feel tankier and award more aggressive, close-quarters play on all difficulties. OR add out-of-combat health regeneration, even if it's really slow (such as 1% every 3 seconds or something). As it is, I feel like the Vanguard and Heavy tend to be kind of bad classes because of how glaring their weaknesses are (Heavy is completely overwhelmed in melee and Vanguard is too squishy for the aggressive play it wants to engage in). I've been loving the Sniper, though. I have good aim with the Las Fusil, so if I see an elite enemy, it's already dead, it just doesn't know it yet. And I can carry my team if I have to because I can stealth-revive people if I need to.

SM1 had the right balancing with executions and combat. You can't play melee aggressive in this game because of the potential to basically permanently lose health, combined with the lack of stims and the small amount of healing it gives on higher levels. out of combat healing is a very poor bandaid solution because the game shouldn't give you enough time to be out of combat anyway, walking around and waiting for elevators is not fun.

Reminds me of the Deus Ex (the ones with Adam Jensen) games, where the devs seeing that playtesters were simply shooting their way out of problems, Instead of incentivizing other playstyles, or making the combat "harder" (is a world with augmented people, you telling me, no one designs their defenses for them!?) They just went the easy route and "well, no ammo for you" (entire weapon shops having like 40 rifle shots like wha). So the issue is still there, combat easy because the AI is both dumb and has no tools to counter your augments, but now you just have to be a marksman 24/7 to conserve ammo. For some reason PVE games consistently take the easy way out of design, instead of trying to find root causes, so tends to fall into "great but flawed" at best.

I forget the term but the reason people "glaze" or ignore flaws is that they associate an idea, or product, with their identity. Its a well documented psychological phenomenon, and here's the kicker: when you point out something that you can demonstrate that proves their view incorrect they'll just double down because you're attacking their sense of self which causes the logic part of their brain to turn off as they're now fighting for their life. This comes down to humans evolving to be aggressively social creatures and the threat of "being wrong" or "not part of the crowd" is an evolutionary trigger for "going to die VERY soon." They're quite literally fighting for their very lives.

100% agree and have seen so much of this over my time on the internet. In this specific situation, i do think this video is blowing it out of proportion. Sure a lot of what is being said i can agree with, but i really dont think its so bad that i want to refund the game. Im having a great time with the game and by the looks of it a lot of other people are as well. Maybe its because i went into the game as a 40k fan with minimal expectations, but i got my moneys worth. The representation of lore is amazing with nods to specifics sprinkled around for the nerds and the story was filled with spectacles while being short enough to not get old and the same goes for operations. Granted idk what others are saying to cause this video to be made, but imo this game has a lot of flaws but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Especially knowing that more will come and hopefully changes will be made to further improve the game.

three names notorious for doing so until reality finally kicks in Dough isn't calling the game bad, he's specifically being critical of points he believes are important for both the day to day fun and the longevity of the game, and on that point i agree with him. Space marine 2 co-op feels like you're playing catch up to what a space marine *SHOULD* feel like at the level cap, and the difficulty and mechanics in place are a weird half baked version of other games, melee QTE's to regain armor, no health regain, gunplay (and gun heavy classes) are ass because they just feel so damn bad, since you barely gain anything from shooting... it just doesn't feel right towards end-game, and unlike HD2, this game feels like your class level is supposed to indicate a increase in difficulty level as well.

1. On operations instead of getting hordes of enemies on harder difficulty, the enemy just becomes a bullet sponge... 2. Most weapons also are useless bolters 3. Customisations are class locked and not too much, mostly colors and tabards 4. Chaos space marines feel unfinished, and don't have customisation 5. You will not see different enemies on replaying missions, it is the same enemies on the same map, in the same position 6. Similar classes can't enter the same game session... Why are there even classes? Give people the opportunity to play as they want (not like this character somehow was bound to the story with they classes)

Listen, the perks help a lot but there’s still a large skill gap. You have to have a team synergy where your perks work together to keep you all alive. You also have to be methodical with your melee engagements. There’s a lot of thought and timing in each encounter

@@OhDough I think they really centered the fun of the game around the melee combat. They limit amo to get you into melee and parrying because those are the core mechanics. I agree it’s frustrating in most situations but I have had a lot of fun just trying to be a parrying god with bulwark. If that’s not your thing then this game does become pretty stale.

@@OhDough Ahahah Im gonna be your "Stay humble" check here... It is a teammode like like that oc said and you should not be saying that "Team synergy" and Methodical play is not important. Don't go overinflating your ego like that. You can play heavy and your bot/team support is decent enough at taking aggro and clearing chumps while still allowing you to monopolize a lot of the scoreboard since you are a ranged tank/dps. However You could not do anything other than the first difficulty truly SOLO as a Heavy. The amount of melee enemies would overwhelm you Heavy and chip you into oblivion. So in essence it makes it so that you FEEL like you could do it half asleep solo because you are not being the sole focus of aggro which is ythe heavies greatest weakness.

Having dumped about 20 hours in this game over the weekend, I do love the game, but there are several glaring flaws in Operations: - Guns definitely need more ammo. - Ranged enemies are too overwhelming, in particular Zoanthrope pairs. - The "Massive Enemy Waves" are extremely frustrating to deal with, even moreso Chaos waves, mainly because of the large number of Major enemies that spawn that honestly take too long to kill because you can't "duel" them when there are 10 of them swarming you alongside the 50 trash mobs who for some reason are annoyingly tanky. - As a mainly solo Operations player, the AI teammates are underwhelming, to say the least. - Skills feel like they need buffs, even after getting perks for them. - Armor is absolute paper but it's absolutely critical to stay alive. Taking any health damage does not feel good at all. I'm playing as a Space Marine, I want to wade into a horde killing with reckless abandon murdering everything with the occasional big enemy to focus down. I want to execute because it *feels* good to do so. Instead I have to constantly back away and wait for any opportunity to execute as I have to keep replenishing my armor. The few times I played with other people I found myself getting upset that I wasn't able to get an execute on an enemy because someone else has, because I needed to replenish my armor, and that is an *absolutely horrible* way to make a player feel about a mechanic. - The player knockback in the game is definitely excessive. This is everything that immediately came to my mind. I'm sure I'm missing some things but I really hope the devs actually work on Operations to make it fun to play.

The fact that even with 3 armor pips, the termigaunts can deplete it in as little as 6-7 shots, and there's always about 15+ of them in any given engagement is flat out atrocious. People complained that the Chaos part of SM1 was worse than the Ork part. But at least in that your armor only took 6s to fully recharge out of combat. Instead of 25s before it even starts recharging at least let you fight them.

@@lordgrey5223 You can't at the moment, there's no private lobbies. People having bot matches prior was because no one was matching with them. Or because it was during the time the matchmaking was having issues.

@@lordgrey5223 Most of the time I was playing Operations it simply did not match me with other people. I turned off crossplay to make loading times faster, which it did, but it meant I had even fewer people to play with. And once I was in a solo lobby it kept it like that.

Honestly this level of critically realistic criticism is why I came to your channel during HD2. It was no bullshit, well thought out, and no glazing. It was straight forward thinking that wasn't delusional glazing or tunnel visioned negativity. It baffles me just how many people display a lack of critical thought processes about games. From the beginning of the tutorial, I immediately recognized and felt how bad the combat was for what they were trying to sell. It was a terrible mishash of God of War 4 QTE fighters and horde games like darktide/deep rock. I refunded. A buddy talked me into trying it out with him, it was more enjoyable. We hit the last 2 difficulties last night and combat just falls apart at the seams sometimes due to the mechanics being made for curated paced encounters, and having very little checks and balances for the enemy spam and starvation players feel, The best way to describe the last 2 difficulty for operations is not making meaningful progression, it's playing catch up disguised as progression. Many perks and classes are just bandaids for the starvation and bloated enemy economy. Some classes don't even feel properly balanced period given specific enemy types and encounter scenarios. Some maps are absolutely much easier then others as well. I've never really played a horde shooter, outside of HD2, where the gameplay loop became constant frustration and annoyance vs moments of dopamine and moments of "Oh fuck" like you get in DRG and Darktide. Victory doesn't feel good, it feels like an annoying task of chores that become arbitrarily more and more difficult. At the end of the day I don't go "Man that was fun next mission lets go" I go "Glad that's over, gonna go do literally anything else because I do not feel rewarded"

I do agree with some of your points; namely the replay-ability of the game but the part with the number of bombs you place in the second mission is tied to the difficulty you pick when doing the game. Additionally, the second difficulty is kind of null unless you're just doing it for the SLIGHTLY higher exp. You play T1 until green, then go to T3 for the Artificer Armory Date, then T4 once you have a set of purple gear. Another point I don't agree with you on is the ammo. If you're ONLY using the gun and not landing head shots for the extra damage, yes you're going to struggle. If you're using the Melta Rifles, they do struggle. but the game is not meant to be played in a gun only style. You're meant to weave through packs with melee and guns. The Vanguard dashing is fun, the Assault's jet pack is fun (both of which have impactful reasons to have in the team play compositions). I do think the Bulwark survivability and the Heavy's damage output are higher than the other classes but it doesn't mean you HAVE to play them - the Ruthless difficulty is 110% doable without either of those classes in your group. Respect the opinion but don't agree with the way you've made it sound worse than it really is. the few people actually reads this, if you're on the fence about, definitely wait for the Season 2 content update that's supposed to happen before the end of the year. Edit; I do agree though, while the game is fun for me, there are glaring issues with it as well. Like with your sniper class comments: the las fusil is just nuts compared to any other choices you have; but on the other hand, for its ammo reserves, you get the ammo charges back on one shot kills (which it can do to warriors with a charged headshot), and as I stated above, I really don't believe the game is meant for you to ONLY use the guns - the knife is one of the highest DPS weapons available.

1. While the las fusil is generally a better pick if you're the only heavy source of damage, saying the stalker bolter is bad is absolutely braindead. It is perfectly usable in 3 and 4 diff missions 2. The assault class is absolutely busted. You don't know what you're talking about, you're clearly not a melee player, so that's okay. Just take a fencing weapon, it's busted. It not clicking with you doesn't mean it's bad. 3. Vanguard is also amazing, you restore 15% cooldown with executions, making a Vanguard+Bulwark frontline EXTREMELY strong as the Bulwark will be able to raise the banner pretty much whenever. 4. Tactical pretty much turns the game to easy mode, you can delete anything. You can be a horde clearer, or you can DELETE terminus enemies such as the hive tyrant. Just pop auspex scan and stick some krak grenades on ANY boss and it will disintegrate on the spot. Are there things to fix? Absolutely, but mate, you are lvl 25 heavy, and the other classes you've shown you're not even lvl 10, in your other video, you were talking about perks you yourself hadn't unlocked. Mate, just because the other classes don't click with you, doesn't mean they're bad. As for the ammo, yes, I believe there should be a bit more ammo in higher difficulties, but you do have melee weapons, I suggest you use them.

lol bruh you get more and more off base every time. even at the hardest difficulties, you can still crush the missions-i did it all on stream even. at no point did i shoot at an enemy, see my bullet bounce off, and realize it was invincible. yea, your armor is weak-because the enemies you fight are strong enough to crush tanks by themselves. and this is all from early access-we havent even begun the roadmap for the extra content yet. this game has 100k people playing it before it even launched. give it more than 5(?) days.

@@theycallmepiccolo9985 Depends on the book though. If Matt Ward had any influence on it (and it was typically Ultramarine related) the Space Marines were treated like living tanks. In other cases like the Ciaphis Cain series a Space Marine could be worn down and defeated by more conventional measures; even the lasguns could tear apart Space Marine armor in that series if too many lasguns were involved.

They should have finished the season pass content and then released everything as a full game. Instead they put out a short campaign and artificially extended playtime making you play the same missions over and over again until you shell out more money and they finish making more content

Love the game a lot, but you're right. The health regen skills are also lame as heck. The Vanguard skill where you get health back from a finisher is actually insulting considering how late in the game you get it and the damage done to you on the difficulty you'll be on at that level.

It is a bit late, but the amount is fine. You should be getting 15-20 finishers minimum before taking health damage once you know what you are doing. If they increased this to even 2% it would be completely busted.

@@shadowsketch926 Sniper and Heavy actually have the highest sustain in the entire game with the Multi-Melta and Las Rifle. Seriously, I suggest you look into it. Right now, contested health can be overhealed, and Heavy and Sniper can literally fill their entire health bar with a single shot of either gun into any crowd. Those might be the two most broken classes in the game right now. Ironically, they both have talents that give ammo back when you kill multiple enemies, which supports this method perfectly. Vanguard and Tactical can also heal insane amounts this way, but they lack the ammo sustain. No joke, you can run into a horde of enemies and hip-fire the Las Rifle and never die, nor run out of ammo. So long as you have at least a sliver of white health when you fire, you are invincible. Same with the Multi-Melta on Heavy.

If you're not picking the meta (melta rifle), the game becomes much much harder than it needs to be. The major problem I have is I'm PVE, anything above the lowest difficulty, the other players I get into a lobby with BAIL half way through the mission leaving me the bots that do NOTHING. And I am at a level where the lowest difficulty is top easy. It is so frustrating to be literally on the last part of a mission with an NPC player barely hanging on the whole mission then leaves and I can't complete the mission alone because of my class. Straight garbage.

My Nerf branded heavy bolter fails to take down a warrior with over 80% head shots and multiple mags. The bolter rounds are supposed to be gyojet explosives that decimate. The "parry" mechanic does not actually keep you from getting staggered by warriors with the blue green "prompt"... they definatly made the bolters too soft. I love the ripper swarm mechanic and the horde swarm mechanic but the warriors spawing four+ deep and being exxintally invulnerable. Untell you stagger them enough for an execute.

There is replayability in it though? saying doing the same mission with slight variation is not enough content is pretty bold yet Helldivers and Darktide both just play the same mission over and over again...with slight (or significant in the latter) variation in each mission. The melee is fun and satisfying, it's hard and punishing if you make mistakes but I've seen Bulwarks just stand their ground in a horde and demolish it. Alot of the praise for this game also comes from the fact that it has few, if any, game breaking bugs and the gameplay is genuinely fun for the average gamer. In this day and age of game releases it is the unfortunate truth for it to be classified as an "amazing" game. Yea there are some issues with it, assault is either useless or unstoppable in pvp, assault's jumppack is kinda broken and not good in operations but all the other classes are pretty fun. Talking about ammo scarcity is pretty hilarious when you're main clip you've got playing is of a Heavy and vanguard which are both incredibly ammo hungry (especially if both are using the melta guns) and a tactical which can either be incredibly ammo hungry or incredibly efficient if they're good. Edit - p.s. forgot to mention, This game won't kill HD2, it's not supposed to and it's not trying to, people claiming it's the HD2 killer are not actually playing the game.

Some of these comments man. I never usually comment but holy moly. I've noticed the people who have nothing constructive to say, and just can't take criticism just attack your character and others. While the people who agree with you, also like the game and share their feedback on what could be improved. One side attacks people's characters because they like the game, while the other genuinely loves the game and wants it to be better. Space Marine 2 isn't perfect. But it's quality can improve with the right constructive feedback as shown in this video. Everyone gets a better game so whats to hate exactly?

the game will just come out today for most people. It will take a lot of time for people to consume it and starting realize how bad some aspects are. We can only hope that devs will listen and make changes before people start to complain en masse.

Wait till you realize you have to buy every class of gun and master each class with them to move to the Artifcer perk tree and so forth.

I understand your concerns. But I’ve been with this franchise since the golden days of Emperor’s TTSD. I think Saber got a lot done right. There is a lot of teething issues, but considering they decided to issue a stability patch to servers over the early release window is showing to me they care. They made a game that works, respects its origin IP, and they already have a pipeline set up for feedback, which they’ve already started answering and giving definitive answers to boot. No offense mate, I think you got so burnt out by HD2’s lackluster PR that you’re taking a pessimistic approach to this game. Every other creator I’ve watched also sees the teething issues, but they’re more than willing to not fault the game. I’d just go and take a break for a bit and decompress.

I have no horse in this race, but I need to critique something: The guy gives you specific reasons he thinks the game is not in a great place long-term: gun choice, skill "trees", ammo drop rate, kind of the whole direction of the difficulty I suppose And your response to ALL of this is "man, you're just being negative man. If you weren't so pessimistic you would like it"

@@d34thnote79 because he doesn’t get why some choices were made. The Heavy has some ridiculous abilities, but that’s because he gets the lowest mobility of all the classes; even the Bulwark covers more ground by using swift PS mode. The class is deliberately designed to be an anchor, with others supporting, disrupting and maneuvering around you. And even if you are being swarmed and outnumbered, the general idea is to focus fire on the nearest Warrior and abuse the invincibility from executes, and the Synapse feedback to restore armor and crowd control. I know some people will complain about that, but melee is an integral part to the 40k franchise itself, even if dedicated long range specialists aren’t good at it. I think the tutorial should expand in the parry system as you can actually stop ALL melee attacks if you time it right, and against Gaunts/Tzangors, it can actually kill one and restore some armor, though not as much as an execute. That said, I do think they should make it where doing the same to Rubrics, and especially Sorcerers, there’s a kind of Warp feedback that disrupts Tzangor hordes, and that they should make it so Cultists that snipe have a separate model and intentionally stay away from hordes like how Venom Cannon Warriors are. I am writing from the bias of a 40k fan, but that’s because I treat it like it’s 40k first, and not World War Z.

He rushed to get out a negative video because this is the hype window, but his "research" is based on minimal game time, and it is clear that his struggles with difficulty are skill based to a large degree. I have not encountered any of these issues, but I wasn't expecting Dynasty Warriors, and he clearly was.

The only issue ive got is the damage dealt by ranged enemies when playing a melee class. Getting swarmed and watching your armour vanish in less than a second because of a few little twats sat on a ledge is beyond annoying, you just dont seem to be able to hold your own on higher difficulties
