I love the spartan. It has the most lascannons of all the landraiders. 10. 2 quads and a pair instead of the heavy bolters. It has so many but still manages to not look stupid which is an achievement.
Its so good at deleting stuff every turn with oaths. You’re almost guaranteed to hit and wound all your shots. I stuff my spartan full of deathwing knights too so soon as they hop out they go off and kill other stuff giving my opponent more stuff to worry about
Actually, the Storm Speeder Thunderstrike has quite a lot value. In a verhicle focussed Irsonstrom Spearhed detachement for example, this thing is a beast. in combo with the other vehicles, every monster/ character or vehicle from your enemy turns to dust pretty quickly, whilst medium infantry is pretty much useless. It could be more versatile in other detachements, but i think a D- Tier is not particulary fair.
wish the primaris tanks had tracks the hover things look so goofy. addititonaly all the older tanks were about supporting the marines the new tanks are just gun boats
Have you seen the conversions people have done to make them tracked? It makes them look 10x better and actually good. Even the pick up truck one becomes kinda ok.
I think you are kinda sleeping on the sicarran venator, while its true its neturon laser destroyer has heavy which makes it kinda redundant with its ferocious assault ability if it hasn't moved, you have to remember it can also be given two lascannon sponsons that will also benefit from the ferocious assault ability, meaning you not only have the 3 S16 neturon laser destroyer shots but also 2 S12 lacannon shots, and a single S14 HK missile all hitting on a 2+, hopefully at your oath of moment target for rerolls. And in iron storm, getting a wound and damage reroll, especially on the neturon laser destroyer could be key to either knocking out or significantly weakening an opponents vehicle or monster.
Im gonna be getting a spartan soon for my world eaters to fill up with 12 eightbound and try to get some turn one charges with assault ramp, advance and charge and +2 movement blessings
Jesus now thats a brutal idea. Most games I see with world eaters they get half their army shot off the table long before they get close enough to charge so having them in the spartan is a much safer idea :P
I've been having so much trouble finding a land raiding of any kind. Any ideas of a good close proxy till I can find some? Could a rino make the mark least size and reference wise
Oh wow I didn't realize they were getting hard to buy. Fun enough though the repulsor is pretty much the same size as a land raider minus the side guns, but a rhino is way to small, maybe if you stick two together though, that could work if you have a good imagination
@@tankhunterminatures hmmmmm maybe only reason I wanna run the land raider is it gets the las-cannon. And can carry a 6 squad of eradicator Marines with the apothecary for lethal on a 5 up in gladius detachment and I can find crusaders but getting land raiders is just impossible unless you wanna bid for like 4 days
Does the rhino primaries and the land raider excelsior have rules in 10th? And how do the heresy tanks transfer to 40k you using rules from hh, or proxy the models for the 40k equivalents
They are in the ledgends sections of the warhammer comunity page so you can't bring them in organised play but if you are just playing for fun anything goes. Currently there are only a few heresy tanks that haven't had rules made for both, the saber tank is the main one that comes too mind but it wouldn't be hard to convert the rules from one to the other.
Damn, yeah I just double checked it, you have to use the relic razorback to have the assault cannon, also it has the multimelta stat which is good at least.
Oh you are right, I forgot they gave sternguard the primarus treatment. Looks like you are pretty much limited to scouts, tacts and devs, which would all work pretty good still. Driving up a squad of multi-meltas and getting the reroll to wounds is going to be pretty brutal.
@@tankhunterminatures yeah I just got one, you can attach a character to the unit with the Tacticus keyword at the beginning of the game, and he can go in with him. Which I will in fact be doing with my scouts.
It's 100% a B. It's only useful against huge targets. Yeah its long range but you have to have line of sight and the way 10th is played theres no way you are gonna need that 72" range without ignores line of sight. Yes it has one of the strongest guns in the game but it's not gonna deal that much more than a predator annihlator which is 30 points cheaper and has only one less wound. Also personal point. Space marine hover tanks don't look as great as tracked tanks.
@@tankhunterminatures the gun of the Lancer is far stronger. With the heavy Keyword, better AP, more DMG per Shot and the one reroll for hit, wound and DMG roll. The Lancer is Far more concistent in terms of tankdamage.
and yet you did. The critria was cost effectivness, how versitle it is, how it looks, does it support other models/unique rules and overall how strong it is. Thanks for watching :)
