Hot take: smurfs don't really have much of an impact on the ladder or even much of an impact on most players they meet. They climb so fast that they probably meet one group of players maybe once before the MMR boosts them. Plus I think having a Smurf can be extremely beneficial to learning. Let's say you recently got to GM on a genji only account, hop off that account and go to your masters or diamond one to see if you can actually carry those games or if you just got lucky. Then you can take notes and compare and contrast how players of different skill levels try to defeat you.

⁠smurfing is terrible for the game. If you are a Top 500 player and you have a masters account where you mess around and play other heroes that’s fine. Dunking on gold and plats or xim boosting a mercy is not good for the game. It’s the opposite of fun and it drives a lot of the player base away

Nah only 8 XD I had a tilt que from D1 all the way down to G1 calmed down a bit then climbed back to mid plat before the end of the season last time I played on my acc.

No its pretty much confirmed that its speed boost. He literally said "its gonna be fast" + there was a weird bug with DVa where she said something about "my speed ring is here" or something along the lines

The bug could be literally anything since we also have a tank character coming up in a few seasons, so I wouldn't take that as a confirmation. And about the dev saying that... words can be misinterpreted tbh, or could mean something else, idk. With my original comment, I was just making fun of it because of Kiriko having a speed boost too, in her ultimate. I just hope it's not another damage boost or something like that. Would be annoying.

Apparently he doesn't play his own game. JQ, Lucio and Kiriko give speed boost. Ana used to with ult.

@@TheDragolf he specifically mentioned "in support". Only kiri gives speed boost outside of lucio but that's only in ult and isn't a speed boost utility ability like queen or lucio. Clearly he was just trying to give a hint on the spot without spoiling too much. Yall need to chill out lol

Im curious though about if it might be the discord or some oind of status effect. Overwatch color theory: Orange: burst(she was supposed to have some sort of burst smg but apparently they changed it Blue: Arial movement or vertical White: horizontal movement or lateral Purple: is wierd plus its in her hair but you see it used in widow, Zen, Ram, and they have some sort of draining or life steal abilities

Space ranger could maybe have damage amp, because Kiri has speed boost in her ult and JQ has it in her shout. Since Orisa bongo was removed only Mercy has a damage amp, unless you want to consider discord a damage amp then idfk

i think its not lucio, i think its mercy! he says only one character has that ability. And kiriko has also speedboost in her ult so it cant be lucio in my opinion. i think its the flying part about mercy that is the ability thats on only 1 character. and it would make alot more sense if shes called spaceranger!

Five bucks says the speed boost was never the plan for her kit until someone mentioned how they could get people to play Lucio less since they completely changed how he's meant to be played with the projectile changes and the dumbass knockback passive that keeps getting stronger because passives are the only way this outsourced dev team knows how to balance anything.

Imagine if Mercy got reworked to change her 25% DMG boost to a 30% firerate increase, the same or higher DPS but not breaking any breakpoints for high burst damage weapons. Resurrect could also be changed to some sort of buff visible to the enemy team you can attach to a teammate like a zen orb, then if they die you can res that teammate and only that teammate, in exchange for a faster animation or longer range.
